  1. TL;DR - SG-registered BMW got called out for pumping cheap RON95 petrol in JB reserved for MY-registered vehicles only. We all love a good cheap thrill. But not as much as this BMW driver. Watch this 75-second video of him not giving a hoot even after being called out by the cam-car. What happened? A SG-registered BMW driver was seen pumping RON95 petrol in Malaysia, when it is strictly only meant for MY-registered vehicles. The way he strategically used his body to cover the petrol nozzle and bike rack to cover his car plate while fueling his BMW with the forbidden petrol, goes to show the number of times he has done this prior. When confronted by the cam-car, he still continued - clearly unbothered, unfazed, thriving~ Online Comments: Reactions to the BMW driver being called out were pretty mixed. Many felt that this practice was very exploitative, giving Singaporeans a bad name. On the other hand, some argued that Singaporeans who pump cheap petrol in Malaysia still do stimulate the economy in other ways, such as shopping/dining there. Moral of the Story... 2. A cheapo Mercedes e250 owner is under fire for using water from the fire hose to wash her vehicle in a multi-storey carpark. Caught at a HDB estate in Ang Mo Kio, the video shows a family utilising a fire hose reel to wash their car on the seventh level of a multi-storey carpark. The lady (presumably the mother) slowly fills up a bucket which her son is holding with water from the high-pressure hose. According to the cam car, this family does not reside around the area, but that does not stop them from frequenting the carpark every Sunday morning for their weekly car wash. Under the Public Utilities Regulations, no person shall use water supplied by the Board to wash any vehicle using a hose, pipe or any other appliance attached to a water tap or a draw-off point. This excludes the water taps at designated car washing areas. Any person who violates this regulation is guilty of wasting water and that's a chargeable offence. While this is not the first time a driver was caught using a fire hose reel to wash their car, it is an incredibly inconsiderate act and a waste of precious resources intended for actual emergencies. Netizens’ reactions TBH, as much as the driver wants to cut costs, she should use the designated car washing bays instead. These areas are equipped with proper water dispensers and hoses, and some carparks even have a Car Care System machine, which comes with a high-pressure water jet and a vacuum cleaner. If she can afford to have a Mercedes e250, surely she can afford a couple of dollars for a proper car wash.

  4. New saga! Cheapo rider take Gojek, according to her there's a route that can avoid ERP. When the driver ask which way, she says she don't know and then claims that driver is out to cheat her ERP money. Driver angry, drove to police station. She tries to record driver and accused him of driving recklessly. She says driver has no right to record her, even though she herself is trying to record the driver. She calls (presumably Gojek hotline) to report driver. They reach a place where there is a Malay policeman. She tried to exit the car but the car is auto locked, and shouts "kidnap!" Policeman appears to side with driver and she plays racist card. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0sziuM1_a8&feature=youtu.be

  10. Hi, I just did a DIY cheapo car video recorder. If you find it is useful, you can use it inside your car. Quality of video:- Details about my setup:- Handphone: Sony Ericsson K610i Recording: 1 min = 1 MB SD Card: 2 GB (how many MBs is that? I think can record quite long) Velcro: Free (found it at the dustbin) Another setup was using my wife's better handphone and a suction handphone holder. Video Quality:- Details on setup:- Phone: Samsung Preston Camera: 3.2 Mega Pix File size: 1 min = 3MB SD Card: 1 GB My wife's handphone better. Can see number plates. The advantage I see here is that you can record everything in front. If someone reverses into you and say you knock into him, at least you have proof that he was the one who reverses into you. Or roll back (at most shopping centres nowadays, roll back very common). Hope this is useful for you. Thank you Dave
  11. Dec 20, 2007 Ugly Singaporeans rear their heads in carpark I WISH to share these experiences with readers. These happened twice over three days at the same carpark next to the Tampines Regional Library. I had noticed at least three Singapore-registered cars lined just before the exit with drivers at the ready. As I approached the exit barrier, two cars immediately dashed out and tailgated my car, supposedly joining the queue to exit. However, I was very perturbed when the drivers revved their engines, trying to inch closer to my bumper and, as I exited, the car immediately behind mine sneaked past the barrier. I tried to slow down and stopped as I exited but was honked at. A similar incident happened again two days later at the same car park exit. My question is: Why do the carpark authorities allow such blatant abuse? The ugly Singaporean surfaces everywhere - not only at the buffet tables. 12. Bought a 22" and 16". Cost me a mere 18bucks. So far so good after installation. Can use and throw if it starts to streak (rubber pitting).
  13. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/main.j...3/emfpero04.xml It features UK and Singapore's cheapest car. The Perodua Kelisa. Lots of facts there when buying a car. It is all about price price price. Servicing and low running costs are bonuses actually. Unfortunately Singaporeans only see Toyota, Mazda and Nissan but not $$$$ .

    Cheapo!

Ford new GT, aimed at Ferrari, will hit American roads in 2005. All very nice, but for something that's going to cost US$150k, why does the steering column and associated switches have to be so familiar to Focus owners? (see red circles)
