  1. Without seeking help from Google, can you guess which model is the donor for this fake Dodge Challenger? Coachbuilding is almost a lost art, but Japanese company Mitsuoka is trying to keep the magic alive. It has built some weird cars over the years, including a retro Miata that looked like a Morgan Aero 8 and a Jaguar XK120 had an affair. The most unconventional build in recent memory was this – the M55. Initially a concept, the fake muscle car is going into production. Unveiled in November 2023 to celebrate Mitsuoka's 55th anniversary, the quirky Dodge Challenger lookalike is actually a Honda Civic underneath its vintage body. In the months that have passed, the company has received more than 1,300 messages from people wanting to buy the contraption: "This was the first time for us to receive such passionate messages directly from so many people of all ages and both sexes." Due to popular demand, Mitsuoka has decided to make the M55 a reality. However, it's going to take a while. The company intends to have the car on sale near the end of 2025. Additional details are yet to be disclosed but we'll remind you the concept was based on the Civic five-door hatchback and had a 1.5-liter engine hooked up to a six-speed manual gearbox. While the car's front says Challenger, the rear makes us think of 1970s Japanese coupes, such as a Nissan Skyline or a Mitsubishi Galant GTO. The profile is an obvious reminder that the automotive oddity is a Civic at its core. Inside, Mitsuoka went through the trouble of adding retro-looking blue upholstery and it swapped out the Honda badge on the steering wheel for its logo. Mitsuoka certainly has imagination, and there are apparently enough people interested to warrant the development of a production model. This is more than just a comprehensive body kit since the headlights and taillights are also tailor-made, as is the front grille. The rear window louvers seem to take inspiration from a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Mitsuoka reckons it won't be able to build enough cars to meet demand because the conversion will take time since all necessary changes will be performed manually. Pricing has yet to be disclosed but given the extent of the modifications, it's safe to say it won't be cheap.
  2. <Dodge Sets 2024 Death Date For Charger And Challenger To Make Way For The Brand's "eMuscle" The best selling muscle cars in America will be gone in the next two years as Dodge transitions EVs Dodge Charger and Challenger Jailbreak models. Image: Dodge It’s finally happening: The Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle machines will be no more by 2024. Motor Trend spoke with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis about the brand’s plans for the next two years as the company tries to appease muscle fans and appeal to EV buyers. Kuniskis is aware that a lot of people won’t be happy with the direction the brand is taking (he’s already receiving death threats for the changes). He calls it, “feeding the beast.” Image: Dodge The discontinuation of the Charger and Challenger, and the start to the brand’s EV models are all a bigger part of its “Never Lift” plan. Within the 24 months of the plan, Dodge plans to release special editions of each departing model: Editions they think will get people talking like the recently introduced Jailbreak. It’s really more of a softening of the blow to muscle car fans who will soon be robbed of their Hemi fix from the brand. Image: Dodge So, you’re asking, “what’s replacing the Charger and Challenger?” Those of you waiting for an EV muscle car won’t have to wait long. Kuniskis says a concept version of the “muscle EV” is coming in the next four or five months. And in a surprising nod to automotive outlets, it’ll be able to be driven and tested. Dodge also has a plug-in hybrid expected to go into production at the end of 2022. We speculate it may be a version of the Durango, but Kuniskis didn’t say whether or not the Durango would be moving to a new platform or if the model would be around at all. A third new model is also in the works. Kuniskis is light on details, but says “The third one is going to be a very, very, very, significant car at the end of the year.” And in a move that should make our very own Jason Torchinsky very happy, Dodge’s made up Fratzog badge will be used exclusively on EVs. Whatever floats your boat, or rather, charges your batteries. So you muscle car fans who are mad about this: calm down. Chances are the power output is even better than your Hemis anyways, and it needs to be done for the planet. You can expect these new models to take the stage at major auto shows next year, presumably in Dodge’s Detroit home, at the North American International Auto Show.>
  3. This beast is the 797bhp Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeyehttps://www.topgear.com/car-news/usa/beast-797bhp-dodge-challenger-hellcat-redeye Good news, fans of gratuitously powerful under-tyred muscle cars. Dodge has updated the Challenger Hellcat for 2019, and introduced a new model that borrows bits of engine from the certifiable Demon. This is the Redeye. No, it doesn’t have glaucoma. What it has is the Demon’s the 2.7-litre belt-driven supercharger (the largest fitted to any production car), twin dual-stage fuel pumps, strengthened pistons and connecting rods among other things. Thanks to those modifications, the Hellcat Redeye’s 6.2-litre V8 produces 797bhp – 90 more than a regular Hellcat did when it came out in 2014/15. Torque is up by 57lb ft to an entirely appropriate 707lb ft. Available in standard or ‘Widebody’ (pictured) configurations (wider tyres and arches), the Redeye isn’t a replacement for the standard Hellcat. You can still buy one of those. Nowadays its makes 717bhp, which is still plenty, and will hit 199mph. The Redeye will do 203mph, hit 60mph in 3.4 seconds and trim a tenth from your ¼ mile time (11.1 for the Redeye, to 11.2 for the ‘standard’ car). Widebodys are a bit slower, but look roughly eight-point-three times cooler. The Redeye is only available with the eight-speed auto ‘box, however, whereas the standard car can be specified with a manual. Is that a deal-breaker?
  4. Have you ever wondered why the 2012 FD Champion, Daigo Saito, can't be seen drifting his Achilles Radial Lexus SC430 at the moment? Well, it's because this professional Japanese drifter is currently busy with this Dodge Challenger, a muscle car from the country of Uncle Sam, at the Ebisu Circuit. But if you think this is just a normal American muscle car, well, think again. The said Dodge Challenger

  6. Michael Schumacher says the best thing about his Japanese Grand Prix was not that he won the race, instead it was that his brother Ralf joined him on the podium. The two Schumacher brothers claimed P1 and P2 on the Suzuka grid on Sunday morning and later in the day followed it up with the 1-2 in the race. What made Ralf's performance even more impressive was that the Japanese GP was only his second race since returning to the ****pit of his FW26 after a 12-week layoff. Asked what he most enjoyed about his win in Japan, Michael, the elder of the two brothers, answered: "Easy: the fact that Ralf was on the podium with me." "We asked ourselves when it was that it had last happened as we are not ones for remembering statistics. The only thing that came to mind was the Canada race. Naturally, it is not influential; the important thing is the Ralf is back with us" He added: "He proved to all of us that he has always to be taken into consideration." =============================================== The only thing it proves is that Ralfie needs Big Brother to aid his cause .. simply because he is hopeless [/left] 2 podiums in one season ... when his teammate Montoya scores 2 times more points for the team Coming from Big Brother .... and knowing Ralfie will be moving to Toyota next year ... dun expect much from Ralfie, he is there to make up the numbers and because his surname is Schumacher Just look at his pathetic statistics ... one cannot imagine he is driving a Williams and not a Toyota already in 2004. http://www.planet-f1.com/...ship_table.phtml/pf1
