  1. Hi all, anyone else experiencing carpark that accept the traditional cashcard with chip only? Due to my old cashcard expired after 7 years, I am using flashpay netts in my IU now. Not facing any issue with all erp and every carpark till Cathay Cineplex. When exiting the carpark, the system only can take cashcard with chip. Anyone experienced any other carpark as well?
  2. We tell you what to expect about the new On-Board Unit (OBU) and share a few handy tips, too! The ERP 2.0 is based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology, which allows Land Transport Authority (LTA) to manage congestion without the need for physical gantries. It also provides the option to implement distance-based charging in the future. With this move, it will require drivers to change from the previous In-Vehicle Unit (IU) to the new On-Board Unit (OBU). However, after spending the past month with the new OBU, we learned that there's nothing to worry about and in fact, there's plenty to look forward to. Here's what you can expect from the new system. The OBU starts up with a greeting screen, and you can choose whether or not to display the clock Making the appointment Car owners will progressively be notified by LTA via mail, email and/or SMS, on their turn to have the new OBU installed in their vehicles. You'll have a two-month window for this, during which the installation fees are waived. The time it takes to install the OBU depends on several factors, but mainly, it'll depend on your vehicle's make and model. In our experience, it took just under two hours on a weekday afternoon for Cycle & Carriage to fit the OBU to a Kia Cerato. It's best to arrive on time, so that the installer will have enough time to do a proper job and take you through the system once it's done. The antenna will typically be positioned where the IU unit is normally located Decisions and positions The new OBU consists of three components: An optional touchscreen display, a processing unit and an antenna. If you've opted to install the touchscreen, you'll be asked where you'd like it positioned. There is some room for flexibility here, but the placement is limited by the length of the cable. Get behind the wheel and adjust the seat to your preferred driving position. From here, you can tell the installer where you want the screen to be placed. Our advice is to put the screen on your right so that it sits just above the dashboard, making it easy to see/read. On the other hand, if you choose not to have the touchscreen, you'll need to register your smartphone on Onemotoring Digital Services and pair it to the OBU using Bluetooth. There are currently four apps you can choose from to use as an alternative to the touchscreen display. Tapping on 'My OBU' lets you view your OBU number, which is identical to your previous IU number In addition to ERP information such as road pricing alerts and your CEPAS card balance, these apps also offer features such as navigation and real-time traffic information. However, do note that due to security concerns, these apps cannot provide the full functionality of the touchscreen display. The touchscreen is also where you can adjust the system's feedback volume as needed. Without it, you'll be asked to set your preferred volume at the point of installation. You will need to bring your vehicle back to the workshop if you want to adjust the volume again. The processing unit is usually placed on the passenger side, but depending on your car's make and model, it can be located elsewhere, too Remember, if you do decide to install the touchscreen later, you'll need to pay a fee, too, so weigh your options carefully. Meanwhile, the processing unit is typically placed by the centre console on the front passenger's side. There is some flexibility in its placement, but again, this depends on what is feasible for your vehicle. The location of the antenna is quite straightforward, usually at the bottom right of the windscreen. The menu system is simple, so it's easy to tweak various preferences Using the system We found it easy to get acquainted with the OBU. In the settings menu, you can adjust the 'beep' volume and screen brightness and choose whether you wish to display the clock. Having a digital clock is handy, too, because eventually the OBU time is synchronised with the satellites for accurate charging, thus avoiding disputes. More importantly, there is no need to worry about your season parking or any backend payment arrangement. Your IU number will be ported over to the OBU, so you won't have to re-apply or transfer any season parking or even update the backend payments you currently have. On the go, the OBU works just like the IU when it comes to deducting ERP and parking charges. The display helps inform drivers about the ERP charging info, especially in the absence of large physical gantries in the future. Handily, the large screen also makes it easier to view how much you've been charged and your card balance. However, bear in mind that for those carpark gantries that require drivers to tap or insert the CEPAS card, you must still do this even with the OBU. Fortunately, each car owner who installs the OBU will receive a free NETS motoring card that you can keep handy. Now, what if you've signed up for auto-top up feature so that you don't have to keep topping up the CEPAS card, but need to use a complimentary parking coupon? The OBU touchscreen has a button marked 'Card Payment', which can be pressed to temporarily disable card deduction for complimentary button. It is on by default, so tapping it turns off this function and lets you use coupons. There are other new advantages as well. Apart from the aforementioned REP to be rolled out later, the OBU also reminds you to drive carefully when you're in School Zones and Silver Zones, and to avoid driving in the bus lanes. It'll also tell you when you're approaching a fixed speed camera, thereby helping you avoid fines. More functions in the pipeline The OBU is designed to be "upgradeable", so LTA can add features as needed. When these features are ready, they are automatically pushed out over-the-air to the OBUs. There is no need to bring the vehicles back to the workshops for upgrades. The 'Card Payment' button for instance, was seamlessly added without us having to do anything. We didn't have to configure any Internet or WiFi access or login to Singpass. LTA will also introduce real-time traffic incident updates, so that drivers can be warned of congestion or accidents. The OBU will also eventually be able to alert drivers if they are approaching an ERP charging location and allow drivers of Singapore-registered vehicles to seamlessly pay for tolls at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints. LTA is also working with the Traffic Police to expand the safety notifications to include more speed camera zones to remind drivers to keep within the speed limits at these locations. Advance notices of road closures are even provided - they will appear when the car is driven near the location so the driver can plan ahead. The OBU installation was relatively painless, and the user experience has been seamless thus far so we can confidently say that there is no cause for worry or anxiety in switching to the OBU. With more features in the pipeline, the OBU will help make driving in Singapore only become more convenient in time.
  3. TL;DR – A Toyota Allion hits the brakes and hazard lights just before an ERP gantry. Netizens try to rationalise this selfish and entitled behaviour. With ERPs back in operation, it is no surprise to see incidents like this occurring. For example, the ERP gantry along the AYE just before or after the Celemti Ave 6 exit. Back when I lived in the West (for a short time), I would always see cars and motorbikes parked near the bus stop or road shoulder to avoid paying the ERP toll. Today’s incident might be a little different, maybe? Let’s watch the minute-long video and find out your opinion. What happened? A Toyota Allion hits the brakes and its hazard lights just before entering an ERP gantry along the PIE at the Mount Pleasant exit. The cam car directly behind the Allion is having none of it, and after blasting two words in Hokkien (hint it involves the female genitalia), he doesn’t hide his displeasure with a long, angry horn. Did the Allion try to evade the toll? I decided to do some research. Honestly, it’s peanuts compared to some ERP gantries closer to or in town. But I digress. Let’s have a look at the time indicated on the gantry in question. It’s 8.41 at $1.00. Yes, the next time period would be $0.50, but do you think the driver is doing that to evade paying $0.50? Is the answer obvious yet? With the facts in front of us, I think it’s highly likely a case of ‘forgot to put the cashcard in the IU'. The charge is $10. I kena before. That being said, I agree that what the Allion did was dangerous for vehicles directly behind it. But the cam car driver could have practiced more patience. He just sounds like a grouch. Online Chatter There are of course people who think it was very inconsiderate and dangerous. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. Forgotten to put back my card after topup. Question is.....is the only option to wait for fine? Or any other means to pay the gantry cost to avoid fine? It was an honest mistake.
  5. As per topic, any idea where to buy it? I've gone to a few petrol stations around my area and they're no longer selling it. Or is it no longer for sale? My IU can only read chip ones.
  6. Just wondering if you are using an IU cover to conceal your cash card. I am not using one and while I am driving a friend's car that having the cover, I find it quite inconvenience. 1) can't see the deduction and remaining amount properly 2) can't remove the card easily 3) doesn't the cover hint that a card is in there?
  7. Hi guys, my IU came with the new car and is about 1 year old. Recently after deduction of fee from exiting a HDB carpark, the IU start to show Err SC. The strange thing is that it can still detect ezlink card/net flash pay. I have checked my Cashcard using a top up machine and I was able to read the balance so I assumed the Cashcard is working fine. Now I am still able to enter my season parking and able to pay for parking using ezlink card. Anyone encountered this before? I am contemplating to change the IU a not as next year, the new IU will be introduced. I don't wanna waste time going to LTA. On the other hand, as my job requires me to run around Singapore and I know some car park only accepts the old school chip cashcard. Zzz. Uploaded a video to show what I mean.
  8. Hi guys what does 'purc' means and what is MC2295? Anyway to check? Need to do claims

  11. Was at suntec this afternoon, didn't realize I was deducted twice for the parking charges! What should I do? Go back and ask for refund from the carpark management? btw, the parking was quite steep, $10.50.
  12. Hi bro and sis, My scenario is: I just went through HDB cashcard parking system at boon keng without cash card in and out. I forgot to insert in. When I come out of the gantry, there was a "TEEE" on my erp unit and then i went off after the plank lift up. I caught a glace from the display, only the bottom part. It says pls insert cashcard. My question is: 1)Will i get fined via letter? 2)Why did the plank lift up if one doesn't have the cashcard in it? 3)There was an allowance of 10 min/ sunday free parking, is it if within these limits , we can go in and out without cash card? Pls advise. Regards, Sk
  13. Was at customer site and parked the whole day, then when I exit the carpark, I forgot to press to receipt for claiming!!! Freaking $13 parking. Anyone know if the ATM or AXS can print the details from the cashcard usage? Thanks a billion!
  14. Anyone used it as a cashcard in your vehicle IU? Does it require the new IU to be able to read? I tried on my IU but "error".
  15. Yesterday when i was trying to top up my cashcard at the ATM machine, it keeps giving me error etc. So no choice i bought a new Cashcard which cost me $10 (Only $5 is the store value), tried topping up at the ATM again but still problem so lan lan go Cheers top up and cost me 50cents. I just realise that the refund is only the remaining store value in the cashcard, meaning $5 is kena makan. My question is if a cashcard is having problem, do we have to spend another $5 getting a new one or can NETs replace a new one for us? Is there a way to return the stupid card to NETs and take back the money? Sorry to rant, Seriously, so much money goes to ERP every single day, is it still necessary to charge for top-up and also the card is not refundable when return to NETs?
  16. Does anyone knw how to refund the remaining amt from the cashcard via POSB ATM???
  17. My cashcard is expiring soon. Anybody knows how to get back the remainng value ? Thanks
  18. As above, what should I do with the card? Donate to charity??
  19. Greetings! Are the cash in a expired cash card refundable? If yes, where and how do I go about doing it? Thanks ! *edit : OMG wrong forum. Apologies
  20. what a fool! Eat and s--t at the same place ================================= http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_689733.html AN IMMIGRATION sergeant at the Woodlands Checkpoint on Monday admitted swopping the CashCards of motorists leaving Singapore with cards that had no money stored in them. It was how Edmund Jeghan Anthony, 31, came by $2,226 for personal and family expenses within a two-month period. He pleaded guilty to criminal breach of trust and dishonestly encashing the money stored in 130 CashCards for his own use, and was jailed for nine months. A district court heard that in Anthony's job manning an immigration booth at the checkpoint in March and April last year, he would process passports and check that the toll of $4.80 was paid by each motorist, who had to pass his CashCard through the reader. On April 4 last year, Mr Vincent Ma Yekai, 29, drove up to Anthony's booth at 7.45pm. The reader at the booth was faulty, so Anthony took the CashCard to the next booth for the toll to be deducted. Here was where the swop took place. After finding out that Mr Ma's card had $90 in it, Anthony kept it and returned to Mr Ma another card with a similar design but with zero value.
  21. Saw the other thread where Pierre Png did a dangerous stunt to stop on the PIE to confront another driver, so just relating an incident this morning. Anyone here witnessed a "champion" auntie who stop right in front of the ERP gantry after Kallang Bahru towards Tuas this morning on the 2nd lane of the PIE to insert her cashcard, and I meant stop as in 0km/h not slow down. Luckily I was on the first lane approaching the gantry when a whole row of cars on the 2nd lane came to a stop. Drove pass the car and saw an auntie stretching to insert her cashcard. Think that is a damn dangerous act especially on the expressway. Wonder if the ERP gantry have any camera to capture the incident.
  22. I was going through the ERP near the Istana towards plaza sing, i remembered my cashcard had 2 bucks in it, however, the value was deducted before the white line, possible?
  23. Today i went to SMU for my matriculation, drive my OPC there... park for 5 hrs plus and the parking charges was $12.82... then proceed home.. took CTE during peak hours and the last gantry, got a 50cent toll charge but my card left 48cents.. Is there anyway to avoid the $10 adminstrative charge? I heard that if we go pay on the spot it ok alr.. but where is the place? ERP is crazy man... i think i kanna $3-$4 in town area... not gonna drive to school anymore.. suck my $20 cashcard dry in a day!!
  24. Was charged twice at bras basah carpark, any bro here knows who to contact to get the 2nd charges back?
