Do you know who you are? Try this the next time you get a parking ticket!
chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
From this video, one of the conclusions we can draw from it is when you have just been given a ticket by the parking officer, threatening him on whether he knows who you are or not isn't going to help you get out of trouble. As seen on SG Road Vigilante's recent post on 23rd of September 2020, the offender has just gotten a parking ticket along Sturdee Road North and can be seen trying to video down the whole confrontation with the officer who just gave him a ticket. Obviously not that good at redeeming himself, the owner of the video tries to 'put pressure' on the officer by asking him whether 'he knows who he is?' and claiming that the officer is less clear about the laws than him. If you are curious as to what happens next, catch the video below and let us know how you would react if you happen to be in such a situation. -

The group of us shop owners have been parking our vehicles at the end of the road for the longest time. Clearly, we did not infringe any continous white line, nor are there any double yeloow lines in the area. Even when LTA enforcement officers came to book other errand drivers did not booked us, as according to them, there was nothing wrong with us parking that way ( we did asked them on several occasions). However recently some idiotic CISCO (based on the summons) started to issue summons on the vehicles, with lame reasons "parking in a manner that obstruct other road users", and "not parking in a manner parallel to the road". KNN WTF. Lim bei park neatly at the end of the road without blocking any entrances, obstruct what f%^#? I did not wait for the summon letter, and immediately wrote emails complaining the double standards and question them if these CISCO people are well versed with highway code anot. Let's see what they say.

http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/courts-crime/story/ex-auxiliary-constable-jailed-insulting-modesty-women-lock-2014053 SINGAPORE - An auxiliary police officer who asked women held at a police lock-up to show him their bras was jailed for six months on Friday. Malaysian Kalai Selvan Ramaiya, 28, was working for Aetos as an auxiliary police officer when he insulted the women's modesty at the Jurong police division lock-up on Oct 1 and 2 last year. He has left Aetos and is now unemployed. A court heard that a 41-year-old Indonesian woman was alone in the station cell on Oct 1 when Kalai Selvan bent down and spoke to her through a pigeon-hole although it was not necessary to do so for them to hear each other. As she came to the door and bent down to speak to him, he caught a glimpse of her cleavage. He told her she would be in remand for one week, and that he needed to check her bra, knowing full well it was not true. -

I was awaiting at the side so not to obstruct any traffic. A Cisco officer came by and I told him that I waiting for a parking lot. But he insist of issuing me a summon " Parking opposite single white line" even thou I am inside and beside my car. So does the traffic law doesn't allow us to wait for a available parking lot and does one get summon for illegal parking even when the driver is beside or inside his car ?"

Two former Certis Cisco officers who were tasked with the job of replenishing money at ATMs in Singapore ended up misappropriating nearly $147,000 instead. For that, 21-year-old Palwinder Singh A/L Harjan Singh will now spend 30 months in jail while 27-year-old Theywa Subramaniam will serve a 36-month jail term. The court heard that Theywa, deemed to be more culpable, was also convicted of one count of moving the criminal proceeds to Malaysia and another count of moving more than $30,000 cash out of Singapore. The court was told that the offences were committed in mid-September last year when the two officers made their rounds with another colleague, who was not involved. The two men had discussed their plan over tea break, after sharing with each other their unhappiness with their employer's management. They decided to execute their plan when they were at Plaza Singapura. Instead of heading for the ATMs directly, the two men pushed the trolley carrying the cash into the men's washroom. Their movement was captured on CCTV. They took out $147,000 and left the other $293,000 cash in the bags before continuing their rounds. The prosecution had previously argued that the starting point for such offences is a jail term of between 24 and 28 months. The aggravating factors in this instance were that the two accused were security officers and that their plea of guilt is inequitable, as they were caught on CCTV and the offences would have been discovered. In mitigation, the defence counsel argued that $135,000 was recovered at Theywa's Malaysian residence, and that his client was truly remorseful, having "supreme stupidity of thinking that they could get away". But District Judge Siva Shanmugam pointed out that the acts were pre-meditated and that the amount involved was substantial. He said the blatant abuse of trust has undermined public confidence in the security industry. For criminal breach of trust as an employee, they could each have been jailed up to 15 years and fined. I've been getting summoned for parking outside my house which is a continuous white line, okay I know im wrong I breached the rules. However, the way they run things really pissed me off. Firstly out of all the residents car that parked outside of their house (there were around 20 plus or more) only 3-4 got summoned. So one of the day which is yesterday, I caught that guy issuing me a ticket to my car, so I came out and asked why he only summoned specific cars only. He said they will only issue ticket to cars that the residence around that area complain, so I was like okay if that's the case I complain to him right on the spot and demand him to summon the rest of the cars then. He told me I need to call up the LTA hotline to make a report first, which is totally nonsense. It takes time to call them, and by the time they send another traffic warden down is already another 1hr plus or sometimes they do not appear at all! So this time round I was really pissed off, I called the LTA and request them to summon all the cars around the area. they say ok they will send someone down, I said someone is already down here so why can't they do something immediately. they said they need to go through some SOP before the traffic warden can issue. Then I was like ok, and the stupid procedure takes like years to process...so I get this traffic warden to wait here till they get the info to summoned. by then Ive had enough of waiting as its already 12 midnight and I don't have all day to play with them, so I called the supervisor to come down also and demand an explanation to this. The supervisor came down and gave the same lame excuse where they summoned cars only complained by the residence. I was like WTF? ok so I did made a complain earlier on so can u summon the rest of the vehicles, so they called their office to check and stuffs after so long then they decided to tell me okay they will summon every vehicles...but after driving around looking they decided not to summon and back out of their words....seriously wtf is going on?! they like to summon they summon don't like then don't summon? so okay I called the LTA officer today, she told me that they will only summon those cars complaint and with the carplate number given to them....I was like WTF?!?! seriously that's really b-------t...if u wanna enforce the rule then enforce all out...why do some half fuk job... I will be taking down those carplate numbers later on and gonna complaint to them...see what are they gonna do about it...if still not summon issue, I think there is really some unfairness and biasness in the way LTA and Certis Cisco run things.... sorry for the long post...just ranting

My brother noticed something interesting a few weeks ago, but I never got around to writing about it. (Sorry, I've just been really busy!) A CISCO vehicle was parked very precariously along Upper East Coast Road, as follows. I don't know the traffic rules, but apparently this is illegal, and kind of dangerous. So my brother called the Police, who told him to call LTA, I think- who said that they would issue a summons. I believe my brother even jokingly asked whether they were really going to do anything about it, and asked if he should put pictures on Facebook- to which whoever answered supposedly said, Sure, carry on, go ahead. Well, my brother returned that night, and noticed that the Cisco vehicle had reversed a little. But wait, there's more! Can you see it? There's a traffic summons! Wow, Cisco is really on the ball, huh? But wait

Just fined by Certis Cisco at outside Compass Point. Offence: "600070 - (LV) PARK AT UNBROKEN DOUBLE YELLOW LINES UNDER RULE E 22(b) RTR". There is nothing behind the offence notice but it says that the Traffic Offence will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle in due course. Can any of you give me the email address so that I can try to appeal? Where should I write to? Traffic Police? LTA? I think its $70 fine. I left 2 passenger inside the car with hazard light on and went to fetch my old aged mother and took about about 3 minutes. Attendant spoke to the passenger to drive and when the passenger said that she is not confident to drive, he immediately issued a summon. I wanted to go into the shooping centre car park but it was full and cars were queueing outside. Yes it is my mistake but I would like to appeal. Thank you.

Rude? Issuing fines indescrimately? Power tripping? Exerting otherwise non-existent authority? In civilian life they are nothing. But put them in uniform and they think they are god.

What happen to our highly rated CERTIS CISCO? So many cases of report loss. Somemore, the lost jewellery can come back (or walk back) to the deposit box =============================== http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...odged_in_3.html 8 reports of loss items from Certis CISCO safe boxes lodged in 3 weeks Eight reports of items being lost from Certis CISCO safe boxes have been lodged in the past three weeks since one of its customers, Mr Tham Choon Kan, reported that $40,000 worth of jewellery went missing from his safe box on July 11. Mr Tham had spoken to the press about the missing jewellery. According to a Straits Times report (Aug 16) Mr Tham's items were found in the box a few days later. The report says that another customer claimed to have lost about $20,000 worth of jewellery. A Certis CISCO spokesman confirmed that the report had been lodged by Madam S. E. Goh, 50. The claim relates to a diamond bangle and a cat's-eye ring, which Madam Goh found missing from her box in June, and made a police report a month later. A letter from the security company was delivered to Madam Goh at 10pm on Tuesday (Aug 14) to remind her to check her home and office for the lost items. STOMPer Jean, who ascertained with STOMP that Madam Goh is her mother, had made a post about the letter that said that her mum should not make any public statements or approach the media during the police investigation. Madam Goh said, "I was hoping that they had found my jewellery and were bringing them to me, but they gave me a letter telling me to keep mum and asked me to sign an acknowledgement slip. It is very tactless on their part to treat clients like that." A Certis CISCO spokesman told The Straits Times that the company had sent letters to seven clients who filed reports about alleged missing items. However, two clients who also claimed items were missing and had spoken to the press did not receive the letters. In a press statement, the Certis Cisco spokesman said that clients who issue public statements raise "undue concerns and panic" over the security of its facilities. According to the Straits Times report, only 25 reports of losses have been made since 1986, and six of these cases were dropped after customers found the items at home. The spokesman said seven levels of security are in place at each of the company's facilities, with four auxiliary police officers on guard, and closed-circuit television units located outside each safety deposit room. Photo identity is also needed to access each box. Madam Goh said that thorough audits should be conducted as soon as possible by a third party to verify the company's claims of tight security controls. She has removed all her valuables from the box and will not be renewing her contract when it ends next year.

I think many have bad experience with some traffic marshals, my only fear is these are not locals whom do not have the empathy and not there to serve for the public good. No matter what nationality when given the task and authority they should act with justice and equality. Case in point....... Along upper serangoon road, a stretch of eateries with Maybank along the stretch of shop house....think some may know. Cisco's is almost always there 24/7....... Near the Alison porridge there are some parking slots along the road. One Cisco marshal standing there when I arrived, put on my signals and wait for a parking lot. All the time the officer stand there with his "cool" shades doing nothing. One week later send me a love letter for obstructing traffic, with 4 demerit points and $150 fine. Pissed off.... I wrote to TP that the officer being a representative of the traffic police force is to serve the public. The officer in question do not sees himself in the uniform of authority to serve but instead abuses his power. While we peasants are suppose to fear them like GODS. Am quite sure anyone here in this forum that if any of these Cisco officer come over and asked you to move your car; all of us including myself will gladly do so. TP acknowledge my letter and kind to waive off my summons but not without a warning which I appreciate. Some may say that I have caused traffic obstruction and should be punished, that I do not argue and I admit is my mistake. My problem is Cisco officers being the representative of the law and order should act in good faith with the mentality to serve the public. Thus my conclusion is most of these Cisco are not locals and they do not care about the locals. I hope Singapore will not come to a position where we have to out source the whole police unit to 3th parties and there will be no more integrity in the uniform anymore.

Anybody knows whether Cisco traffic warden is armed with a digital camera or video camera with tripod set up to catch bus lane offenders? Today i kinda cut a bit of bus lane just after the bus turns out of the bus lane but then its close to the dotted line that allows drivers to stay on that lane for a left turn. Saw the white figure immediate after i went to the bus lane but he did not snap me...didn't even turn his back and look at my plate no. after i past him. So now im wondering whether that piece of on top of this stylo tripod is a video cam or a digital camera.

Was driving into Jaybee and after clearing Spore customs, they have this CISCO officer peering into your car to look at your Fuel Tank Gauge to ensure it's 3/4. Like any 'good' citizen, I ensured that I topped up before entering and it was at 3/4. When it was my turn, he strained his neck into my car and next demanded for my passport ina 'not so nice' manner. I asked him, why? He raised his voice and said, look at your meter, just above half tank! I was like WTF! I asked him open his eyes wider and see properly! He was looking at my water temp! KNN! After that, kept saying sorry, macam scared I complain him like dat..... it must be a 'tough' job looking at gauges. I made it up with a good meal of butter crayfish there after to compensate the 'ordeal'.

Just checking... saw a couple of police bikes the other day on the PIE... Not TP nor ROV cos plate numbers with fx.... Weaving in and out of traffic on Lane 1... and pointing to the heavy vehicles on lane 2 to go back to lane 3... These should be cisco officers?? do they have authority to issue summons for speeding... or other traffic offences while you're driving on the highway?
