The internet is a great way to send and receive information. Unfortunately for car manufacturers who want to keep their new car details a secret the internet is a pain. The latest victim is the new 2012 Mercedes Benz C-Class coupe, where photos of this new model has been leaked prior to its official launch at the upcoming 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The internet viral marketing network strikes again! The 2012 C-class coupe will take its place as the entry level Mercedes Benz coupe. If you aren't aware, the CLK series was replaced by the E-class coupe and a gap has appeared in the Mercedes Benz line-up. Hence the C-class coupe. The car is basically the C-class front end and a coupe rear. Everything from the A pillar/dashboard rearwards is new. However the design isn't as slick as the E-class coupe or like the CLK series of cars due to the fact that the car does not have the pillerless or no B-pillar look of the E-class and even the CLK-class. I suppose being the 'entry level' coupe, Mercedes did not want to make things too complicated by spending more time designing wind-proof door sills or spend too much on high tensile steel (in order to make the structure stiffer even without a B-pillar). It looks like a tasteful little coupe, much like the last generation CLK. From the looks of things the new C-class coupe will sell. Entry level cars ensure new customers the the marque and being a Mercedes Benz, there are many who aspire to own one (especially the 'towkays' in our region). No details about engine choices as yet but expect the usual 1.8liter turbocharged 4 cylinder and a range of petrol and diesel engines that should end with the new 5.5liter twin turbocharged v8 in the stomping AMG version. source:autobild

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_ts8zqAcC0 The all-new 2012 Mercedes C-Class Coupe was spied at the Long Beach Vehicle Processing Center in California by a Youtube user. The lightly camouflaged C-Class with the two-door body was parked alongside other Mercedes-Benz models including a pair of wrapped up prototypes that appear to be the next generation M-Class and SLK roadster. While exact specifications are unknown at the moment, it's believed that the C-Class Coupe will be almost identical to its recently refreshed four-door and Estate siblings under the skin. The engine line-up will likely include the C180 CGI 1.8litre/156bhp, C250 CGI 1.8litre/204bhp, C350 CGI 3.5litre V6/306bhp, C220 CDI 2.2litre/170bhp and C250 CDI 2.2litre/204bhp. A V8-powered AMG model could also be in the cards. The car should come with a comprehensive set of options which include lane guidance, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, traffic sign recognition, night vision, automatic parking aids, cornering lights, and cruise control with brake actuation. With the introduction of the C-Class coupe, the CLC model will be dropped off. Below are the leaked official photos of the new coupe. Enjoy!

This is the refreshed 2011 CL-Class, which despite the rumors, doesn't adopt the S-Class Coupe moniker as part of Mercedes-Benz's new nomenclature that started with the new E-Class Coupe that replaced the CLK. For its mid-life facelift, the CL coupe has received a mild facelift and a new bi-turbo V8 engine. Visual updates include a redesigned front bumper housing LED strips with chrome surrounds for the daytime running lights, a reshaped hood, new headlamps and a more V-shaped grille. The LED turn indicators and position marker lamps along with the reprofiled rear bumper and newly-designed tail lamps round off the exterior changes. Under the bonnet, there's a new 4.7-liter bi-turbocharged V8 engine with BlueDIRECT technology, which is mated to a revised version of Mercedes-Benz's seven-speed automatic gearbox. Stop-start system and brake energy recuperation technology are present too. The eight-cylinder unit produces 429HP and 516 lb-ft of torque. The CL500 requires 4.9 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h, a 0.5 second improvement over the previous model. The range also includes the CL600, with its 510HP 12-cylinder biturbo engine producing 612 lb-ft. of torque that accelerates the luxury coup
