  1. Tried to remove some minor scratches on the alloy rims (non glossy non shining type) with fine sandpaper on a boring sunday. Managed to buff out the scratches but left a bit of polishing marks . It is not noticeable unless look at it closely. I can live with it. Do I need to do anything more on the affected areas like applying a protective coat?
  2. Dear bros/sis, I have recently begin preparing my vehicle for CNY (haha). As you know, swirl mark occurs over time irregardless whether we like it or not. I recently spent 4 hours plus manually removing it by hand. No doubt I am glad that all marks are gone from my bonnet, I now have to face reality that I have the rest of the car to deal with T_T So I was wondering if any bros/sis have seen those buffer machine they use to polish cars but can be operated by ciggy lighting plug instead of the normal power socket plug. Cause living in HDB means I have no access to power points at ground level car park. Was hoping if this machine exist, I can buy it and that should reduce my time needed for removing the rest of the swirl marks from the remaining portions of the car. Thanks in advance.
  3. All those 'handjobs' (I mean hand polishing ) are wearing out my elbow grease and I don't want to end up with arm arithis when old. Thinking of getting a buffing maching. I have heard about rotart, obital blah blah blah... I am intending it to be an all purpose tool for polishing, swirl removal, application etc. What should I really get? Can anyone recommend some cheap and good ones? ai pi, ai chee, ko ai tua liap xxx ....I know I know
  4. Being a newbie to machine detailing, which kinda pads should i get for detailing? rite from the first step till the last? I have an old Bosch PEX115A which uses a velcro system for attaching pads. Planning to go to HOMEFIX to get the pads, but have no idea which to choose. 1. pad for removing swirls and water marks? 2. pad for applying polish? 3. pad for buffing off polish? 4. pad for applying wax? 5. pad for buffing off wax? Hope bros who are into this can enlighten me... thanks alot
  5. I have been DIY-ing for the last 8 months with Zaino products. Namely, Z18 Claybar - Z1 polish lok - Z2 Pro - Z6 spray. I love the final outcome. Recently, I got hold of the Z5 Show Car Polish (Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches) to 1) cover up some swirls and scratches and 2) give a deeper shine. The problem is that I had a real hard time trying to buff off the Z5 polish residue. Often, 70% of the residue refuse to come off the surface with the normal buffing method I used for Z2. I have to apply more pressure and use a longer time to get it off. Even then, it will not be completely removed. In most cases, I have to use the Z6 spray and a cloth to effectively remove the leftover residue. Anyone who uses the Z2 polish will know how easy and simple the buffing procedure is but removing the Z-5 is a real bitch. Is anyone experiencing the same kind of sticky situation as me? What went wrong? 1) Drying time? In the Zaino webby (USA), it is stated that humidity will affect the drying time. I normally wait for 40 mins before attempting to remove the residue. 2) Application is too thick? I was told by Chandra that the Z5 is actually denser than the Z2, thus it will longer and more work to buff it off. In any case, guys that went for his grooming session have to pay $10 more if he has to use Z5 on their cars. Happy to discuss with anyone trying the Z5 and has/had encountered the same problem.....
