Spotted these while shopping for new pads, backing and adhesive has been improved. They seem to be machine washable now. Has anyone tried them? Not too sure if foam compound has been changed, the finishing pad is now black in colour. Pics taken from http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=155

Ive not waxed/detailed for a long time - When I used to do it on a weekly basis many years ago, I always used my trusted/cheap KIT Carnuba Wax (Paste). It was so simple...apply whole car, dries and wipe of in a circular motion, immediately a brilliant shine waits underneath the dried paste. I could wax a whole car in 30 minutes! PRESENT 2006: I decided to try waxing again and decided to buy Meguairs #7 Professional Gloss (or something like that). Following the instructions to apply one section at a time and wiping off - it was a nightmare. When I wiped it..it was still wet..so I kept swirling over the same spot...and b/c it was wet..the detailing cloth also was moist ..so kept changing to a drier portion of the cloth and continued buffing...I had to do this for 5 whole minutes..over the SAME spot before there was a shine! - and even then there were dozens of residue "wax spots" on the polished portion that required heavy buffing to remove!! Just doing the bonnet took me 1.5 hours plus..and a hand that felt like it was gonna fall off!! Surely this is not normal!! Are other brands the same?? Or should I just switch back to good old KIT Carnuba Paste? Thanks for any imput guys!
