I am just wondering if its really necessary to buy branded gauges like Defi, HKS etc.... Cause I was sourcing for a boost gauge and went to autobacs and saw this Taiwan gauge for $98. Its much cheapers compared to 300-400 for those branded ones. Decide to get one as I don't have a boost gauge in my car. Wired it up and found it to be pretty accourate. My ECU show 1 bar boost, the gauge also show 1 bar. Thus I am wonder if its really necessary to spend so much to buy expensive gauges if cheap ones are just as accurate.

I was searching around for a HU replacement as some of you may know. in SG, i saw a package for a Pioneer HU with USB, and 2 pairs of speakers for around $300 with installation. wanted to see if can get cheaper in M'sia, so i went in and check out some shops. for the equivalent of $300, i can get a DVD double DIN HU with screen and 2 pairs of speakers with in-built tweeters. but all OEM. warranty only for HU. speakers no warranty. will you go for package 1 or package 2? BTW... the double DIN HU is an android player.

This Red Indian boy goes to his mother one day with a puzzled look. "Mom, why is my bigger brother named Thunderstorm?" She told him, "Because he was conceived during a mighty storm." Then he asked, "Why is my sister named Cornflower?" She replied, "Well, your father and I were in a cornfield when we made her." "And why is my other sister called Moonchild?" "Because we were watching the moon landing while she was conceived." Thoughtfully, Mother paused and asked her son, "Tell me, Broken Rubber, why are you so curious?"

Tuesday July 19, 2011 Grand Iskandar taking shape NUSAJAYA: There is a sense of excitement in Iskandar Malaysia as key projects in this mammoth economic corridor take shape. One of this year's highlights will be the opening of the Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) in Kulai-jaya with Prime Minsiter Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak slated to attend the opening on Nov 11. Shoppers will be able to buy branded items at factory discounts of 25% and above for famous brands including Gucci, Prada, Coach, Ferragamo, Ralph Lauren, Esprit and Calvin Klein. Spectacular project : Abdul Ghani (right) looking at a model of the waterfront development during the Iskandar Malaysia Information Day recently. Looking on are Khazanah Nasional managing director Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar (second from right) and Kota Selat Tebrau chief executive officer Datuk Lim Kang Hoo (second from left) . (The JPO is a 50:50 joint venture between Genting Group and United States based Simon Property Group). Once completed, the gross built-up area of the JPO will be approximately 330,000 sq ft and is expected to bring in four million visitors in its first year of operations. Besides the JPO, a number of key road infrastructure works have been completed in this vast development which is three times the size of Singapore. Since the inception of Iskandar Malaysia in 2006, parts of the 2,217 sq km landscape which was once planted with rubber and oil palm is slowly changing with the opening of hospitals, universities, international schools, hotels, and logistics and manufacturing hubs. Some of the eight road projects have in fact been completed ahead of schedule, namely Jalan Yahya Awal Jalan Lingkaran Dalam Interchange and the Ulu Tiram Interchange. As for some of the development projects in Nusajaya, the Britain-based Newcastle Uni-versity Medicine Malaysia has been completed while construction of Marlborough College Iskandar is under way. The construction of Iskandar's Legoland Malaysia theme park, also in Nusajaya, is progressing well and is scheduled to open next year. Legoland will offer 40 interactive shows and rides along with 15,000 Lego models, including those of famous buildings. It will be the first of three planned theme parks in Iskandar Malaysia. Two lead players involved in the planning, implementation and funding of the project are Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and the Khazanah Nasional-driven Iskandar Investment Bhd. Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Ghani Othman, who is also co-chairman of IRDA, has been hands-on since the inception to ensure the smooth implementation of the projects by having briefings at his office in Nusajaya and at IRDA's headquarters in Danga Bay. Ghani has been aggressively promoting Iskandar during trips abroad. These efforts have been successful as to date, RM73.24bil of investment deals have been clinched including 41% from abroad.

kind of curious. I had an arguement with my wife about buying bags.... branded bags meaning any bags that cost more than $400. $400 is an arbitrary number so there is nothing to argue about. I know some branded bags cost less, etc.

Hey guys, am thinking of getting gauges, but heard from a friend that cheap taiwanese gauges are not reliable and spoils easily. Then again, three defi gauges cost about $1000, and those from HKS and Blitz don't come cheap either. But I am not too sure how long those defi gauges can last as compared to taiwanese stuff. Are they more cost-effective over the long run? Anyone can give some educated advice? Thanks. :)

There is a guy wanting to let go of his 16" Bora Rims, and I might be able to get it for a reasonable price for my Octavia. Anyone know where I can get plain, non branded covers that fit stock VW or Audi alloy rims? Thanks.
