  1. SINGAPORE - The police are appealing for information on a man who robbed $3,000 from a SingPost branch at Potong Pasir Community Club on Thursday afternoon (Feb 8). There was no weapon involved and no one was injured. The police said in a statement on Thursday that they received a report of the robbery at about 1.30pm. The male suspect had walked into the branch wearing a white surgical mask and allegedly demanded the female staff to hand over all the money, the statement said. "The female staff immediately ran into a room for safety. The male suspect then climbed over the counter and made off with about $3,000 in cash that was placed in the drawers." The male suspect was wearing a black cap, a black sweater, blue jeans and black shoes, and was also carrying a black sling bag. He was last seen running in the direction of Upper Serangoon Road, along Potong Pasir Avenue 1. Police investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information can call the police hotline on 1800-255-000 or submit information online at www.police.gov.SG/iwitness http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/man-robs-3000-from-singpost-branch-police-appealing-for-information?utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&xtor=CS1-10
  2. Hi all, any of you guys send your cars to this particular workshop for accident claims/repair before? Do they also provide car rental for the days that the car need to stay in the workskop for repair? Just realised this workshop is one of my insurance company (AXA) authorised workshops. Hoping to see any personal experiences from you guys if any, though i googled for some reviews and they aren't exactly positive
  3. Hi all, Need your advice… Huge branches fell on my car My Comprehensive insurance premium was $680 Can repair at Kah Motor (KM) with NCD protector (current is 50% NCD) waiver of excess of 1st own damaged claim (2nd own damage excess is $800) Courtesy car provided if go repair at KM Kah Motor (KM) body shop will replace the roof, knock & re-spray two sides beside the roof, two front A-pillar, two door panels, front & rear fenders Estimated no 8 to 10 days (excluding weekends) Estimated repair cost of 6-8k Provide a courtesy car Authorised workshop A will only knock & re-spray the roof (unlike KM which will replace) The rest same as KM to knock & re-spray all damaged areas. Same estimated no of days as KM Did not provide estimated repair cost But NO courtesy car Option 1 Don’t repair Maybe this is good only if im confirmed going to scrap my car (but my almost 11yrs old car mileage is only 130k, if sell on SG car mart or to exporter, maybe can fetch higher than trade in to KM if buy new Civic this year) Option 2 Repair at Authorised workshop But unlikely, coz No courtesy car & KM workmanship should be better & KM replace roof instead of repair… Option 3 Find the cheapest workshop & repair out of my own pocket?? Option 4 Repair at KM Is this the best option? If do this, upon next insurance renewal, Most likely have to stay with current insurer, as NCD protector is only recognized by current insurer Estimated increase in premium of 5% to $200+ or $300+ or $400 No more NCD protector No more waiver of excess of 1st own damaged claim PS: Hi moderator, i seach by insurance & branch & tree, but was not able to find a similar topic... pls help to move to the appropriate thread if i post wrongly, many tks

  5. Anyone sent in their car for a major servicing there before, like change of engine oil, parts etc etc? I know this shop specialised in tyres and i have changed mine there just a few days ago which was a pretty good experience. Thought of letting them service my car at the same time while doing rotation 2 months later as the boss seems sincere and honest. Need some reviews first if possible

  7. Hi all, will be doing the above servicing next week after getting my 2nd hand Swift. It's out of warranty though and i would prefer to send it to AD as i don't have a trusted workshop. Anyone has any experiences to share when you sent your car there for servicing? Like did they a good job and check every detail thoroughly? I'll be taking Menu C i think, $378 for Synthetic Oil. Are they persuasive in the sense that they will push you to change the parts which are still in good/okay condition? I might probably get duped if that's the case as i do not really have much mechanical knowledge. Also i discover the audio CD player can't eject the disc i inserted in. Can i get this repaired there as well? How much do u guys estimate this cost to be? Pls help. Thanks
  8. Hi guys, Found my car with few dents on the roof and a broken tree branch. Must be due to the storm in early morning. 1 major dent is at the area where the front passenger door and the roof meets. 5cm x 5cm area dented in. Other major dent is a shallow dent of radius 10cm x 10cm above driver roof area. Then few other small dents. No paint chips, just some marring. How much do u think repair will cost?
  9. http://www.asiaone.com/News/Latest%2BNews/...331-336888.html Tree falls and crushes car along Upper Bukit Timah road AsiaOne Saturday, Mar 31, 2012 SINGAPORE - A big tree fell on two cars along Upper Bukit Timah Road, crushing one of them and causing a major traffic jam along the road. According to pictures sent in by eyewitnesses, one of them appears to be a black Vios car, with the tree trunk having landed across the roof over its back passenger seats. According to Mr Michael Lee, 51, the driver of the black vehicle, the car was stationary and he was waiting at a light when the tree fell. He was the only passenger in the car at that time. The second car involved had its car tyres caught by the branches of the fallen tree. However, the female driver in the second car managed to dislodge them and drive off. According to a spokesperson for Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), they received news of the accident at 12.18pm. SCDF officers reached the scene four minutes later. A fire engine and an ambulance were also dispatched to the scene. However, as there were no injuries, the ambulance left the scene shortly. The cause of the tree breaking has not yet been determined. Mr Lee said the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) should do a better job of maintaining the condition of the trees. Speaking to an AsiaOne reporter, he said that 'flimsy would be an understatement' to describe the condition of the tree. According to SCDF, the National Parks Board (NParks) will conduct investigations to determine what happened. [email protected]
