Currently at this glamping resort called anmon. Typing this while sitting on deck chair while my kids playing with sand. Very short distance from the ferry terminal. The original glamping resort site is Canopi. But its now called Natra. It shares a huge artifical lagoon called treasure bay. U can buy tickets for treasure bay. It also include some activities which u can buy tickets for. But residents of natra and anmon get free entry into treasure bay (sans activities pass). Some photos. It's not a cheap place. But it's really nice especially given the super off peak condition currently. It would be good to come either as a couple or families with kids, preferably in a bigger group where few families can hang out together. I could still see the moon at 9am singaporean time. Blue skies, white clouds. Bloody hot at times. Especially the tents really heat up during daytime. Could see orions belt last night. Which I don't usually see.

Hi guys, i hope this has not been discussed yet cos i searched n find no result for club med. planning to bring my parents n 2 kids to club med bintan for dec holidays. anyone been there b4? or any other club med in asia? how is the experience like? i understand that a lot are included in the package. does it include all the meals? n is it true that food is available round the clock? my plan is to let my kids participate in all the kids' activities while we adults jus laze ard, massage n mayb do some of the less tiring activities. pls also advise what are the additional expenses that i can expect.

Five hotel operators, including Banyan Tree Bintan and Nirwana Gardens, told TODAY that they had been told not to accept foreign currencies. Prior to this, Singapore and American dollars were allowed to be used on the island, the operators said. The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, however, said the rupiah-only policy is not a new one. An embassy official from its information, social and cultural department referred TODAY to a Bill passed by the Indonesian Parliament in May 2011, which requires all financial transactions within Indonesia to be made in rupiah. An online report posted on legal firm Allen & Overy’s website said the currency law took effect on June 28 that same year, but does not apply to “transactions related to the state budget, grants given by or to a foreign state, international commercial transactions, bank deposits denominated in foreign currencies and international finance transactions”. While it is not clear why the law is being enforced only now, a report by the Antara news agency in June this year said the Bank of Indonesia is encouraging people to use the rupiah in their transactions ahead of the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community next year. “Bank of Indonesia has asked all entrepreneurs and the Indonesian community to use the rupiah currency in every transaction across the nation, as the bank feared that other countries will be one step ahead of Indonesia,” the central bank’s Deputy Governor Ronald Waas had been quoted as saying. Some travel agencies in Singapore said they had not been told about the rupiah-only policy. But an Asia Travel spokesperson said the company had been told by local operators in Bintan that travellers must use only the rupiah because of a “new government policy”, although it did not receive any official notification. Several travellers described the currency restrictions as inconvenient, but added that they will not be deterred from visiting Bintan. Communications specialist Chua Ee Ghim, 27, is concerned about carrying too much cash as the rupiah comes in far smaller denominations than Singapore dollars. “I have to be very careful in keeping my notes and ensure that shopkeepers give me the correct change,” he said. The policy appears to have not taken effect in Batam yet. Batam is another Indonesian island popular with Singaporeans seeking short getaways. Three resorts there told TODAY that they still accept payment in Singapore dollars. Batam was in the news last month after Indonesian immigration officials at the Batam Centre began sending ferry passengers back to Singapore for talking too loudly.

Hi, anyone like to share their review of Club Med Bintan? Bringing my kid there in Nov, 1st time to Club Med with the family so pretty excited. Heard they even organize elephant rides in the compound itself, but don't know how frequent or if we are lucky enough to have this during our trip.

Anyone been there ? How is the place and what activities are there to carry out ? How's the food, massage and the scenary ? Thanks for feedback and recommendations of any other good resort in Bintan.

Got a shock when i check out the rates for Bintan Banyan tree. Costs between USD 330 to USD 1240 per nite ! phew!

Hi, I need advise from the experts who visit bintan resorts often. Me with some family and friends are going over to bintan lagoon next long weekend. And was told that beer are expensive there, so was wondering if it is a good idea to buy in SG and bring it across, or is there any duly free shops at TM ferry terminal to purchase from?? Someone told me that it is ok to bring a six pack each person into bintan, is this true? Does anyone has any suggestion or advise?? 10q 10q.
