  1. Looking much sleeker and more refined, Nissan's all new Sylphy has been revealed at the Shanghai Auto Show featuring the family's V-motion design at the front. According to Nissan, the new exterior design has allowed the new Sylphy to boast a drag coefficient of just 0.26, equal to that of the Nissan GT-R. Powertrain details have yet been released but the Japanese company did mention that it will be using its new HR16DE Gen 3 intelligent drive engine mated to an Xtronic transmission. The current Sylphy uses a similar but older variant of the same engine and makes around 114bhp. Inside, the car looks more upmarket than its predecessor with the black and tan leather combination. Top-specced cars get an 8-inch infotainment screen while speedometer cluster now features a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. Elsewhere new technologies built into the car include Intelligent Trace Control, Intelligent Ride Control, and Emergency Brake for Pedal Misapplication. There’s also Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Cross Traffic Alert, and Intelligent Driving Alert.
  2. Eventually the post and pictures will be wayyyyy too overwhelming for a thread so i hope it is OK to have links instead. I am doing this only as/when i have spare time, bz with work and new house stuff so just too many things to do elsewhere to keep updating on a daily basis. Apologies for that. With that out of the way, let's begin. Day 01 - Part 01: Liberty Walk »
  3. BMW officially unveiled the Vision Future Luxury Concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, giving the world's media an in-the-flesh look at not only a future design theme for the brand, but a rumored flagship model. This is a looker in person, thanks to its Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe-inspired design, and it's not too difficult to imagine it in production car form, with smaller wheels, larger mirrors and the other minor transformations that take place from drawing board, to auto show and, finally, to assembly line. In general, it seems like there are more than a few parts of this vehicle that are ready for production. This particular concept is wearing an eDrive badge on its backside, indicating that under the Vision Future Luxury's long hood is some form of plug-in-hybrid propulsion. It's anyone's guess as to what engine, battery and motor combinations BMW is playing with, although it does seem questionable whether BMW would launch a PHEV flagship to do battle with a top-rung variant of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (which will likely use V12 power). The BMW Vision Future Luxury furnishes a long-term outlook on the perception of modern luxury for the BMW brand. It stands for a forward-looking fusion of exclusivity and innovation, for a driving experience that is at once emotional and exclusive. All this is conveyed through the outstanding exterior and interior design of the BMW Vision Future Luxury along with its innovative technology, a pioneering lightweight engineering concept and a seamlessly integrated user interface and driving experience that caters optimally to the needs of all occupants. The BMW Vision Future Luxury makes its world debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. "Innovative technology and modern luxury have always been an important part of BMW's brand DNA," says Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design. "We use visionary concept vehicles like the BMW Vision Future Luxury to show where we may be going with these themes in the future, and to give us new inspiration and motivation. The BMW Vision Future Luxury – with its innovative technologies and with meticulous precision and quality in every detail – takes our thinking on modern luxury a logical stage further."

  5. Kind of surprised that this wasn't talked about much (I didn't find any topics). http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/motorshows/be...c_revealed.html To be honest, I've not found a car to be this desirable for long time...... I hope there's an AMG version (even though I'll never be able to afford it). I hope the price foran entry level is reasonable, at least....
