They were excited to finally be able to park until they saw the auntie “happily walking and standing in the lot”. This meme came to mind: They thought the auntie was simply going to stand around for a bit until they tried to reverse and found the auntie still not moving. At this point, “I know this auntie want to be famous alr.” Asking the auntie to move nicely (supposedly), she insisted that her car was coming and that she got here first. I think she also said “what you want me to do?”, but the background noise is too loud to hear clearly so hear for yourselves. SINGAPORE - A parking officer skipped her patrols, claiming that she had to take care of her ailing grandmother - and tried to hoodwink her bosses by issuing summonses to motorists who had not broken any rules. To make them believe she was fulfilling her daily work quota, Noorasimah Jasman entered the registration numbers of vehicles without season parking tickets into an electronic record system, despite not knowing if they were even parked in the area she was meant to be patrolling. In what The Straits Times understands is the first case of its kind, she issued summonses totalling slightly over $1,000 to more than 30 motorists - before being rumbled by one of her victims. The 33-year-old was sentenced on Monday (Oct 15) to four weeks' jail after pleading guilty to 18 offences under the Computer Misuse and Cybersecurity Act. Thirty-six other charges for similar offences were considered during sentencing. Noorasimah committed the offences in June and July last year while working in the Choa Chu Kang area for Ramky Cleantech Services, which offers enforcement services involving carpark gantries and parking spaces. It managed several Housing and Development Board-owned parking spaces. At the beginning of her shifts, she would meet her team leader to collect a handheld scanner and a daily patrol accountability form. Noorasimah was supposed to record on the form the number of vehicles checked and the number of summonses issued for each carpark she patrolled. She was required to check at least 60 vehicles per carpark in order to meet her daily work quota. However, Deputy Public Prosecutor Alfie Lim said that there was no quota on the number of summonses issued. She had to return the scanner and form after her shifts, the court heard. DPP Lim said that during her earlier patrols, Noorasimah managed to keep records of the registration numbers of vehicles that did not have season parking tickets. She keyed them into the Integrated Car Parks System (ICPS) - a parking offence management system maintained by the HDB, which Ramky officers had access to. DPP Lim told District Judge Kessler Soh: "The accused claimed that her grandmother, whom she takes care of, was in ill health around May 2017. Because she needed to care for her, the accused did not patrol the carparks assigned to her. "She... did not know if the vehicles had even been parked there, let alone if they had been parked in violation of parking rules. She thus caused the vehicle owner to be issued with summons in respect of parking offences which they had not committed." In June last year, a motorist received letters from the HDB over purported parking offences even though no one had driven her vehicle. She alerted the police and Noorasimah was caught. In all, 16 vehicle owners paid fines totalling $304 due to Noorasimah's scam. The HDB has since cancelled the remaining false summonses and refunded the fines. Noorasimah has lost her job. Defence counsel, Mr Chu Hua Yi, told the court that his client was deeply remorseful. She is out on bail of $10,000 and was ordered to surrender at the State Courts on Oct 31 to begin serving her sentence.

However the 20-year-old says, 'There is nothing for me to be hero about'. According to a report in The New Paper, netizens have praised Huina for facing up to the 'priority seat auntie', posting their support on her facebook wall with comments like, 'You are Singapore's pride. Awesome girl!' and 'You are my super idol'. Other netizens also posted encouraging comments like, 'Support ah lian. These old aunties need to be told off sometimes. Give them an inch and they want a yard.' as well as 'I support you, you are being nice to just keep quiet when she kept shouting at you'. Huina was on a train heading towards Pasir Ris last Monday (Jun 18) at about 6.30pm. The retail assistant had given up the priority seat she had been occupying to an older woman, who then insulted her: 'So displeasing. Most probably you're from China. Ask you for the seat, keep on staring for how many hours? So rude.' Huina initially ignored the woman, also partially because she was using earphones and could not hear the woman. Only after seeing the woman's hand gestures and finger pointing did she remove the earphones. The video had been taken by fellow commuter Muhammad Khair, 21, and ended with a heated argument with the two women exchanging profanities. However, Huina was lauded for saying 'please' before she started cursing and giving up her seat to begin with. She also avoided further conflict by moving to another cabin when the train stopped at Raffles Place. She eventually alighted at Tanah Merah station. A photo has also been circulating online of Huina, in which she won the 'Most Polite Ah Lian Award'. Huina also told the paper she really likes the picture. Chuckling, she commented: 'Where do you find a polite ah lian?' STOMPer Ren3 said: "This girl is cool! She not only takes her newfound fame in good stride, she is also amused by it although she doesn't like to be called 'ah lian'. The older woman had said she had a leg injury, which the younger woman claims she did not see. The older woman to take issue with how the younger woman kept 'staring at her for how many hours' after being asked for the seat, insinuating how she may be 'from China'. Later in the video, the older woman then tries to take a photo of the younger woman, to which the younger woman gets upset and questions why the older woman is 'causing trouble' despite already being given her seat. Throughout the video, vulgarities were continuously shouted at each other as the older woman accuses the younger woman of not having 'honesty'. The confrontation finally ends with the younger woman alighting at her stop at Raffles Place.

There is not one car park in Singapore that is not checked by enforcement officers, says Madam Tan. When drivers spot her, they literally bang the tables and tumble over their chairs as they make a dash to their cars, hoping to get there before Madam Tan does. These are drivers who try to cheat the system by not displaying valid parking coupons or illegally parking their cars. Madam Tan, an enforcement officer in her 50s, declines to give her full name for her confessions to The New Paper on Sunday. A retired civil servant, Madam Tan has been working as an enforcement officer - better known as a parking warden - for more than five years. She usually starts her day at one of Singapore's busiest coffee shops. Hawkers will yell when they spot Madam Tan in the vicinity. Some drivers will hurl expletives as they run to their cars. Madam Tan confesses: "I feel so bad to show up before these people can finish their food. The minute I arrive, they panic, abandon their lunches and run to their cars. "Some would call out to me, 'Tolong aunty, give chance! Give me five minutes to eat.'" To which, Madam Tan would reply: "You spend at least five minutes waiting to have your food order taken, 10 minutes for your food to be served, another 10 minutes to eat and five minutes to go to the toilet. "There are also auditors dressed in civilian clothing roaming the car parks to make sure that we are working." Madam Tan reveals that hotspots targeted by enforcement officers are usually those at neighbourhood centres and car park lots near popular coffee shops and Singapore Pools outlets. For instance, she has caught many offenders at the car parks of Block 632, 633 and 634 at Bukit Batok Central. There is not one car park in Singapore that is not checked by enforcement officers, says Madam Tan. But because those lots are so out of the way, enforcement officers would go there at only a specific time of the day. Madam Tan says: "Many people think that we are out to issue as many summons as we can in a day. That is not true. "My job is to educate the public. This is Singapore. People should know that everywhere you go, you need to pay, even for parking your car." Madam Tan also debunks the belief that enforcement officers have quotas to meet and get a commission for every ticket they issue. She reveals: "We get a basic salary of less than $800 a month. But we get incentives like transport allowance and performance bonus. "Good performance does not mean issuing more tickets. It is about reporting to work on time, getting no complaints or appeals for the tickets issued." That is why Madam Tan is always careful when issuing tickets to offenders. She confesses: "I would rather cancel the ticket than to have the driver file an appeal or file a complaint against me later, which reflects badly on my work performance. "But once a ticket has been issued, there is no way for me to cancel it on the spot." Madam Tan reveals that she issues an average of 30 tickets a day. While she feels sorry for offenders, Madam Tan feels that she is inefficient when she issues just 10 summonses a day. Managing angry and unreasonable drivers is the biggest challenge in her job. She is numb to the verbal abuse hurled at her by these drivers every day. "I will try to explain to them why a summons has been issued. Some drivers actually say 'thank you' before driving off. That is the greatest satisfaction I get from my job," says Madam Tan. But there are also those who threaten her, and some have even knocked her down with their vehicles - all over a $30 fine, says Madam Tan, showing this reporter the scars on her arms and legs. All they have to do, says Madam Tan, is to explain to her why they did not display a valid parking coupon. Madam Tan then keys in their comments into her electronic system. When these drivers send in their appeals later, chances of their fines being waived are much higher as there are already records of their explanations with the authorities, she explains. My uncle-in-law and his family moved to Australia sometime ago. My uncle found a nice job there and will be away for a long long time. Problem is that my uncle is an only son and has always been taking care of her mum (my grand auntie). Being a conservative, dialect speaking illiterate old woman, grand auntie didn't want to follow my Uncle to Oz because she cannot communicate in English, she don't like Western food and so on.Because of this situation, my uncle made me a deal. I get to live in his executive HDB for free and he even left me his old MPV. The only catch is I must look after grand auntie. This sounds like a good bargain until I tell you grand auntie is very problematic. The old coot has kidney problems so I must drive her to dialysis every other day. She also wants to play mahjong with her friends every few days and I must chauffer her too. Then I also drive her to the wet market for her grocery shopping. My grand auntie has very "high standards" and like to complain a lot. If I drive too jerkily, she complains. If I oversleep a bit and she is late for her mahjong game, she complains. The worst is when the MPV broke down one night. She at me for 45 mins. But there is also some good news. Because the executive flat is very big, I have started renting the rooms out to foreigners. Renting rooms a is damn profitable business and I can easily get $500 off a single tenant. The best part is if one tenant complain the rents is too expensive, I just evict him and get a new one (such is the red hot demand). By squeezing as many tenants in as possible, I don't even have to work anymore (except look after grand auntie) Like I said earlier, the MPV broke down recently. According to the mechanic, this is because I have not been sending it for regular servicing (MPV don't belong to me, why should I spend so much $$$ on it?). Then ta ma de, grand auntie complained to my uncle so he is coming back to check on things. Therefore, I am seeking 3 advice: 1) How to make my grand auntie not comprain so much? 2) How to give the MPV minimal and most economical repairs so my Uncle wouldn't notice any issues? 3) Can recommend me more tenants? Madam Tan Ah Lai, 59, claims she slipped as she was walking down a staircase, which was unlit and had sand on it. The self-employed businesswoman sustained multiple bruises to her face and left leg. She also damaged her teeth and suffered depression. According to a report in the Straits Times, developer Keppel Land, however, denies negligence, saying she was at least partly to blame because she could have chosen to use a sloping walkway with handrails. This is believed to be the first case of its kind to reach the courts, and the outcome could have implications on the way developers are expected to look after people who visit their show flats. The accident happened when Madam Tan and her family members visited the show flat at the Lakefront Residences condominium project next to Lakeside MRT station on Nov 10 last year reported the Straits Times. She claimed the only access and exit from the show flat was via a common staircase. She said that this was not lit and there was sand on the steps. She filed court documents claiming she stepped on the sand as she came down the stairs, causing her to fall on her face. Her injuries made her look unsightly and curbed her daily activities, such as exercising, and affected her self-confidence. She attached medical reports and bills to support her claims. Her lawyer, Mr Madan Assomull, alleged in court papers that the developers had failed to protect her from injury, pointing out the staircase should have had handrails or guides. Keppel countered that Madam Tan had the choice of using an alternative sloping walkway with handrails if she had deemed it too dangerous to use the stairs. Its lawyer K. Anparasan said the area was properly lit. He claimed Madam Tan failed to exercise proper care when she used the steps. There was also no need to place any warning boards as the staircase did not constitute an 'unusual danger'.

I was at Yishun Industrial ave 7 near the hindu temple and resturant.. !! the LTA enforcer was issuing summon.. starting the honking.. and luckily some of the guys in the resturant and temple came out in time to take a look !! save them some $$ another one at the CarPark !! hehe.. help us save some $$ !! our pay is not increasing but the country VIP is..!!!
