SKH3536D? Is this a one-sided story? http://www.allsingaporestuff.com/article/angry-ang-moh-driver-tails-nsf-home-beats-him-lift/ ANGRY ANG MOH DRIVER TAILS NSF HOME & BEATS HIM UP IN THE LIFT To Editors of A.S.S, This happened at my residence in Sentosa this evening 25 June 2014. My son was driving back from his army camp and just after entering Sentosa, a car cut abruptly into my son's lane so my son horned at him to avoid any accident. As a result, the other driver horned back at my son. My son ignored this and continued driving not realizing that the other car driven by an angmo was following him. Once my son reached our residence car park the other car tried to follow but was stopped by the security. So the angmo left the car outside and ran inside the carpark even though the security guards tried to stop him. He ran towards my son who had parked his car and followed him. When my son entered the lift lobby using his access card, this ang mo barged into the lift and started shouting at my son accusing him of nearly causing an accident. My son denied this and then the ang mo pushed my son against the wall and strangled him while lifting him by the neck. My son was shocked and then the angmo took a picture of my son and threatened him. The attacker then rushed off but was stopped by the security. We called the police who is investigating the matter. We managed to take a picture of the assailant. Regards Mdm RD

Nicole Seah say she represent us wor... [flowerface] From Nicole Seah Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/notes/nicole-seah-%E4%BD%98%E9%9B%AA%E7%8E%B2/representing-singapore-in-usa/199184180152661 Representing Singapore in USA October 4, 2011 at 7:08pm I am currently in USA for a 2-week leadership seminar at the East-West Center in Honolulu that aims to promote a deeper engagement of APAC-US relations. The jet lag is something new! It must be 6pm in Singapore now. But it is past midnight and I am wide awake, excited to share my experiences. There is one representative from each country - China, India, Taiwan, Indonesia, South Korea. There are also a couple of young elected officials from the US. Will post photos once I receive them from the organiser. The other delegates have asked so much about Singapore, as they followed the General Elections closely. I told them that social media has given the people their voice and a platform to speak up, a privilege which some in developed democracies have taken for granted. One interesting experience in Honolulu was when a waitress asked me how my drink was. I casually mentioned that it was a bit bitter. To my surprise, she offered to change it immediately on the spot for free, and even provided some additional recommendations on other drinks I could try. The Asian counterparts were very pleasantly surprised, but the US delegate said that it is very common, and that they pride themselves on a service that is extremely personable and friendly. It was a small, simple gesture that made my day. To the waitress, she was just doing her job, but to me and the other delegates, she really went the extra mile and put so much pride in her work. I will be visiting a military base tomorrow, to learn more about regional security issues. Really thankful to the US Embassy for the nomination to attend this programme. There are many inspiring individuals to learn from. Good night and Aloha! (Or good evening to all in Singapore)

Teacher dies in traffic accident Singapore American School veteran was half a year from retirement; bus driver arrested By Amelia Tan Mr Edd Brown, 65, was described by colleagues as someone who really cared about his students. http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Story/...ory_490729.html So to say legalised prostituition will not raise the number of cases of STD..... Was this angmoh being paid to speak so that it will not deter other gamblers from joining the Bankrupt Q..... Feb 16, 2010 No link between gambling and bankruptcy I REFER to last Tuesday's commentary by Dr Derek da Cunha, 'Too early to assess the impact of casinos'. Unfortunately, Dr da Cunha's evaluation of the social impacts of gaming in the United States is extremely misguided. He cites flawed and outdated research studies that do not paint an accurate picture of our industry, or the innumerable positive benefits that casinos bring to communities nationwide. First, a mountain of peer-reviewed research thoroughly disproves the link between gambling and bankruptcy. For example, a United States Treasury Department study found 'no connection between state bankruptcy rates and either the extent of or introduction of casino gambling'. Also, it is well documented that gambling does not lead to increased crime. In fact, the Public Sector Gaming Study Commission, a bipartisan collection of state legislators, found 'no link between gaming, particularly casino-style gaming, and crime'. Finally, recent research demonstrates that, while the introduction of casinos to a community may initially lead to an increase in gambling disorders, prevalence rates eventually return to normal. Indeed, a study published in 2008 found no correlation between casino proximity and the prevalence of pathological gambling at all. Dr da Cunha failed to mention what our industry has meant to its more than 357,000 employees and their communities. Perhaps Massachusetts resident George Monte says it best: 'I worked for a casino in Indiana for 31/2 years in security and I saw what it did for the town and community - the jobs it created.' The introduction of casino gaming in Singapore has long been highly anticipated, and for good reason. If casinos achieve the level of success they have enjoyed in the US, the people of Singapore will not be disappointed. Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr President and CEO American Gaming Association

Do you agree this is the trend nowadays? More and more local women have angmoh boyfriends while more and more local men are going for Viet brides. Strangely, the reverse of this paring is extremely rare. How did things become this way?

I find it quite a turnoff actually. As I am working in a global MCS, I have more than my fair share of encountering Singaporeans that speaks normally to you...but the moment they speak with angmoh...goosh the accents become sooo fake. If they speak with a genuine accent, maybe I can still understand....but fake accents like that.... Hehe chatted with a few angmohs about this...they felt quite funny when they hear a singaporean trying to sound angmohish....the more playful ones will answer back with a singlish accents.... Gross out....

Man Who Yelled at Phone User Acquitted By SAMUEL MAULL Associated Press Writer A retired police officer who screamed obscenities at a train passenger who was talking on a cell phone and who hit the hand of another passenger who intervened was acquitted Tuesday of misdemeanor charges stemming from the confrontation. John Clifford, who is also a lawyer, was found not guilty after a two-day nonjury trial at which he acted as his own attorney. He had been charged with misdemeanor counts of attempted assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and attempted petit larceny and had faced up to a year in jail if convicted. Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Larry Stephen issued his verdict immediately after closing arguments: "I see no crimes having been committed beyond a reasonable doubt. The case is dismissed and sealed." The 6-foot-4 Clifford acknowledged during trial that he was aggressive and overbearing when he approached Long Island Rail Road commuters he considered rude for talking too loudly on cell phones and for other behavior. During trial, Clifford, 60, admitted cursing at Nicholas Bender, "a 19-year-old nitwit waking up one girlfriend after another," and slapping the hand of Lydia Klein after she slapped his when he reached for a business card she was handing Bender on the train from Long Beach to Manhattan's Pennsylvania Station on March 28, 2007. Clifford, who retired as a police sergeant after 10 years on the job, said Tuesday he had been arrested eight times after being accused of throwing coffee, spewing expletives and getting in the faces of people whom he considered loud and rude on the commuter line. This was the only case that wasn't dismissed. "It took a lawyer and an old ex-police sergeant to stand up to it (public rudeness)," Clifford, of Long Beach, said as he left court. He said that unless lawmakers and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority do something, the lack of public civility will persist. Asked what he regretted about his behavior, Clifford replied, "Nothing." He added, "I don't want anybody to think they can't have a private conversation (around me), but keep it private." The LIRR issued a statement saying it was "disappointed" but accepted the judgment of the court. "Some of our customers feel as if they have been abused by Mr. Clifford's behavior," the statement said. "We will not tolerate aggressive behavior by Mr. Clifford if he seeks to impose his own standards of conduct on others. We will not hesitate in the future to call on police if necessary to protect the safety of our customer and employees." Meanwhile, Clifford, a lawyer since 1984, has filed five lawsuits against passengers and against the MTA, which runs the region's mass transit system, for issues arising from his reactions to rudeness. Clifford, formerly a security staffer for HBO, was fired after being arrested several times in connection with his LIRR confrontations. He said he plans now to "hang out my shingle again" and practice law. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...lroadrage.html __________________

Thu Apr 3, 11:19 AM ET SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A diamond thong worth S$168,000 ($122,000) was the highlight of a lingerie fashion show in Singapore on Thursday. The Triumph Luxurious Diamond Thong had 518 brilliant-cut diamonds, totaling 30 carats, studded into the front of a black lace thong in a floral pattern. The skimpy underwear that left little to the imagination also had 27 white gold tassels hanging off it. Danielle Luminita, a brunette model from Romania, was carried down the runway on the shoulders of two male models wearing only the diamond thong. "It is very comfortable, it's not heavy or scratchy or anything," Luminita told Reuters backstage. A spokeswoman for Triumph International, the lingerie company that commissioned the thong, said that the thong would be dry cleaned before going on display. "It's a signature piece, obviously we aren't going to sell it," she said. (Reporting by Melanie Lee) http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080403/od_nm/...LAmfd7uIlcSH9EA
