SYF77 posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
2013 marks the 50th anniversary since McLaren was founded by New Zealander - Bruce McLaren. As part of the celebration, the British carmaker has announced the limited edition '50' 12C in both coupe and spider (convertible) body styles. Only 100 examples will be produced. Developed by McLaren Special Operations, the limited edition 12Cs are available in 3 exclusive colours - Carbon Black, Supernova Silver or McLaren Orange. For the exterior, updates include a re-designed front bumper, black McLaren badge on the hood and carbon fibre trim for the lower section. Unique 19/20-inch ultra-lightweight alloys in Satin Black finish and carbon ceramic brakes round up the exterior revisions. For the cabin, we can find subtle branding for the carbon fibre sill panel and floor mats, and a '50' anniversary plate on the driver's door. The 50 12C will come with a monogrammed car cover and a limited edition car key that resides in a carbon fibre presentation box.-

Lamborghini has round up its 50th anniversary celebration by unveiling the Egoista concept at a private birthday party that the automaker has thrown for itself. The uniqueness of the Egoista Concept lies in the fact that it is a single seater. The styling of the concept is said to be inspired by an Apache helicopter. This car will be suitable for the well-off who intends to reserve the privilege of supercar ridership to himself. Power comes from a 5.2-litre V10 engine with undisclosed output. However, looking at the output of a similar unit in the Gallardo, it would be safe to assume that the engine would generate over 500bhp. The supercar benefits from an extremely lightweight construction due to heavy use of carbon fibre. To reduce weight further, the cockpit canopy is removable. Hopefully, more details of the car will start coming in with additional photos from different angles. Apache helicopter

To celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary this year, Lamborghini has planned to release a special model at the Geneva Motor Show. On the eve of the event, the photo of this hypercar has been leaked. Called the Veneno, which means "poison" in Spanish, this is the fastest Lamborghini ever built. The car is built upon the carbon fibre monocoque chassis borrowed from the Aventador LP700-4. The Veneno is powered by a more powerful version of the Aventador's 6.5-litre V12 engine that produces 740bhp instead of 700bhp. This gives the Veneno a top speed rating of 354km/h. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a six-speed ISR robotised manual gearbox. If you are thinking of getting one despite the increase in ARF, you might be disappointed to learn that all three units of this limited edition Lamborghini have been sold. Each carries a price tag of approximately
