From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...to_replace.html Posted on 20 May 2012 Car insurance company quotes me $4,950 -- just to replace Camry's rear bumper STOMPer yoshiki17 received a letter from a car insurance company that stated the replacement of a 2007 Toyota Camry's rear bumper would cost $4,950. The STOMPer had checked with several workshops and was quoted a maximum of $950. Said the STOMPer: "Overcharging for car repair. "I received a letter from a motor insurance company stating that the replacement of a 2007 Toyota Camry's rear bumper would cost SGD$4950. "Had enquired from several workshops and was quoted SGD$750-950 for a new rear bumper including spray painting and installation that would take approximately 3 days. "Factoring in replacement vehicle rental for five days, all in total should only cost SGD$2.5k-3k. "Is this opportunistic behaviour by appointed workshops of insurance companies?"
