Set to be launched at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, Lexus has released a series of photos of the 2014 Lexus IS sports sedan showing the car's exterior and interior styling. As expected, the third generation Lexus IS exterior lines follow closely to that of the LF-CC Concept, featuring a prominent spindle grille and distinctive daylight running LED. At the back, the car sports a dual exhaust system and a pair of taillights that extends to the C pillar. Lexus has not released any official information regarding the third generation IS's drivetrains. However, the IS 250 and IS 350 are expected to be powered by the 2.5-litre and 3.5-litre V6 borrowed from its bigger brother, the GS. These engines will be mated to an eight speed automatic transmission. Toyota's premium division commented that the new IS's increased width and longer wheelbase offers significantly more comfort for the rear passengers while improving luggage capacity at the same time. The concept shall preview an affordable mid-size coupe and styling direction that the next generation Lexus IS sedan will take.
