Kia has released the engine details of the all new Picanto, which will go one sales later this year.
While detailed specifications won't be revealed until the Geneva Motor Show, the Picanto will be offered with four efficient powerplants. The smaller 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine will be made available in petrol, flex fuel and bi-fuel guises. A larger 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine is also available. Outputs will range from 69 hp to 84 hp, while torque numbers vary from 94 to 121 Nm. More specifically, the 1.0-liter bi-fuel engine produces 81 hp and 94 Nm of torque. All engines will be mated to a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic.
This little Kia is rather green as well, with CO2 emissions that range from 95 to 105 g/km. With the optional engine start/stop system, these figures go down to 90 - 100 g/km.
