BMW is recalling some 7,600 2012 3 Series models for head restraints that could rise beyond the federal limit after tests conducted by BMW. The affected vehicles were built between 19 Oct 2011 to 18 Mar 2012, according to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In the event of a crash, with a headrest is the full upright position, downward movement in excess of 25 millimeters may increase the risk of neck injury. Fortunately, no accidents or injuries relating to this defect have been documented so far. BMW will inspect and repair these models as necessary, with no expense to the owners. The repair works involves fitting a clamp to the headrest post on both front seats to limit the amount of upward travel. However it is not clear if the local 3 series models will be affected. The 2012 BMW 3 series was launched in Singapore recently.

The Internet has been buzzing with rumors about the all-new BMW 3 Series (known internally as the F30), but it seems that all this will come to an end soon as BMW will officially introduce the car at its Munich factory on October 14. This about as far as the official information goes. According to media reports, The entry-level 316i will offer the driver 136 hp and will set you back EUR29,000 (this is the price for the German market). This will be followed by the 320i which will produce 184 hp and the 328i, which will allow the driver to play with 245 hp. These figures are similar to the updated 520i and 528i. All the aforementioned models use 4 cylinder engines, but a 3.0-liter straight six with twin turbos, the 335i, will be available to provide 306 hp of fun. A hybrid model is rumored to be coming as well, while the M3 version could use a tri-turbo 6 cylinder engine. The hybrid version is expected to deliver a total of 340 hp. Well, that
