I know there are many many rich people in Singapore but i am really curious what kind of job will give you more than 200k per annum. For the sake of discussion, let us just exclude 1) business man or self employed 2) MLM 3) insurance/ppty/car agents Easy guesses are inventment bankers, laywers, doctors, pilots, professors... but what else?

Need some views on what car would you guys would recommend with 165K. I do have my set of requirements and choices, just wanna hear any more views that may be helpful. And i'm talking about now, looking at changing earliest in Jan 2015, cuz me and gf spoke about future plans over the weekends.... Being a typical kiasu Sporean, better to plan first. I'm still saving btw..... By Jan 2015, I would have set aside $165K for my next car. I'm currently driving a FN2R, which I hope to sell for about $35K then... Would prefer not to touch this 35K because i'm setting it aside to mod my new car, insurance upfront etc etc, if possible. The rest will be used as a "top up" fund if i'm off my ideal car by then... or use it as an advanced fund for my next, next car (yeah i'm kiasu) lol Before I go on, 2 things 1) This is not a haolian thread, cuz I'm not saying im gonna buy a Lambo or Maser, Or Ferrari, so pls stay off if you wanna ka jiao my thread 2) I dun need motherhood statements like $$$ can be used wisely elsewhere, blah blah blue... Having this sum means I have my other needs comfortably budgeted for obviously (housing, investment, standard of living, future kids etc) - I just wanna pay my car in full, that's always my principle, don't intend to change that. I'm aiming for a 2012 Audi RS3. Or if the A45 AMG comes in anytime soon, I might up my budget to cater that as well (I never believe in first hand cars cuz its too much to pay to smell the new car smell lol). Requirements 1) Cannot be a 2-door car (family planning, possible pregnancy, etc) - I love GTR, but its not practical for me *sigh* not pro family I feel 2) Must have certain performance 3) Prefers conti car by then (if Japanese car, must be top breed jipun, like Evo, etc etc) 4) am not into luxury cars (So A4, 3-er, 5-er is not within my choice) Based on my requirements and budget, RS3 would be the best choice?? any views? thanks, I know its a long thread lol cheers

Hi All, Admist the economic downturn and uncertainties I am sure there must be some who have managed to escape unscathed. This group of people, whether by sheer luck or brilliant foresight now have the opportunity to make good returns by bottom fishing either in the stock or property market. If you are one of them and presumably have S$200K to invest(cash and CPF), what will you do to maximise returns? There are no right or wrong answers as risk appetite differ amongst individuals. Personally, I am tempted to bottom fish for property and leverage on a bank loan to maximise potential returns. eg. Look for a property that is about 800K, put up S$200K downpayment and take a loan of S$600K. This property should preferably have peaked at about S$1.4M in 2007 and thereabouts. Then wait it out for 5 years. Hopefully the price goes up to S$1.2M and above and pocket a profit of S$400K, thereby earning a return of 200%(discount monthly loan payments). Alternatively, wack S$200K on blue chips and hope for it to triple in 5 years time. Although finding one that will actually triple will be quite a challenge. OK guys, which option makes more sense ???? ..............................

see the last paragraph. they must be thinking, haha i evade tax PM still praise me. ---------------------- Quote: http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2BNews/...ory_164279.html Popular curry puff hawker jailed for tax evasion He under declared his takings to evade paying taxes of over $160,000 in the last six years. By Chong Chee Kin FOR six years, hawker Looi San Cheng, who runs the popular Tip Top Curry Puff stall in Ang Mo Kio, made an average of between $138,000 and over $200,000 in profits every year. Yet to the taxman, he only reported he made, at best, about $11,000 a year in a bid to evade paying taxes. On one occasion, he stated in his 2002 income tax returns he made a loss of $37,209 when in fact, he reaped $145,000 in nett profits. In the six years that he under-declared his takings, Looi, 63, evaded paying taxes amounting to over $160,000. Looi, who faced six tax evasion charges, was jailed two weeks on Friday on two of the charges under the Income Tax Act. He was also ordered to pay a penalty of $196,000 - three times the amount of the taxes he dodged in 2005 and 2006. The remaining four charges were withdrawn after Looi paid a $291,000 penalty to compound them. Looi started selling curry puffs at his Marine Parade bakery in 1976 and they were so popular, the shop moved to Ang Mo Kio Central three years later. He uses a a well-guarded recipe from Indonesia, where he was born, which includes 18 herbs and spices, and fresh potatoes from the Netherlands. Over 4,000 puffs are sold every day, at $1 apiece. Looi's son, Chong Wee, 32, who used to help roll the dough in his father's shop after school, has taken the family business beyond Singapore - to China. Since moving to Shenyang in 2005, the younger Looi has opened four shops and two in Harbin, another city in north-eastern China. The younger Looi's entrepreneurial spirit in helping to grow Singapore's external wing was highlighted by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in his National Day Rally speech last year. -------------------

Hi all, Which do you think is the most desirable cabrios you wanted to own? And Why? 1. Audi A4 Cabrio 1.8T 2. Saab 9-3 Cabrio 2.0T 3. BMW E90 Cabrio (is it out yet?) With exception of the saab all other cabrio cost above $185k. Personally 1. BMW - If it is the new e90 model. If it is the e46 then last place. 2. Saab - Very similar spec with Audi but with a lot of spare cash. 3. Audi - Too pricy not too impressed with the single grill.
