Toyota Rocks SEMA with 220 MPH Twin Turbo Land Speed Cruiser Land Speed Cruiser Set to Become World’s Fastest SUV TORRANCE, Calif., (November 1, 2016)—Broad shouldered and confident, the vaunted Toyota Land Cruiser authored the rulebook for Sport Utility Vehicles. This year, the Land Speed Cruiser will write a new chapter in the SUV’s history book. Debuting at Toyota’s 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show display, the Land Speed Cruiser is a low-slung, purpose-built sled of a vehicle capable of generating more than 2,000 hp and a top speed of 220 mph that leaves most sports cars in the dust. “From the outside, the Land Speed Cruiser appears quite normal, quite subtle,” said motorsports technical center manager Chuck Wade, who built this vehicle with his team of engineers. “This is what makes it so special. Every single system and component has been touched. The trick is getting the body back onto the heavily modified frame.” The build team surgically extracted the outer shell of a 2016 Land Cruiser. Beneath the surface of the Land Speed Cruiser lies the rugged durability of Toyota’s 3UR-FE 5.7-liter V8. A volleyball-sized Garrett turbocharger flanks each bank of cylinders and breathes directly through front inlets in the specially designed aerodynamic hood. The engine is linked to an ATI transmission. “I love the challenge of taking a vehicle and making it stronger, faster,” Wade added. “Making something beyond outrageous keeps me coming back for more.” “With the Land Speed Cruiser, we are breaking all of the normal conventions of what an SUV should be,” said Steve Appelbaum, Toyota Motor Sales national egagement marketing manager. “This is a vehicle is truly a feat of engineering.” The Land Speed Cruiser is Toyota’s answer to the extreme. The 2017 Land Cruiser represents the present, and the first generation 1961 Land Cruiser harkens back to the past. These three distinctly different Land Cruisers—along with numerous other Toyota, specialty vehicles—can be seen in the Toyota display booth (#24800) in Central Hall and on the Patio Annex of the Las Vegas Convention Center, November 1-4, 2016. .......................................... The Toyota Land Cruiser is known for many things, like toughness and durability, but speed is not among the SUV's chief attributes. Until now, that is. Toyota traveled to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas with a rather special version of its Land Cruiser in tow -- the Land Speed Cruiser. And, as that name implies, the Land Speed Cruiser is very fast. According to Toyota, the Land Speed Cruiser will top out at 220mph, besting most super cars available today. Getting a behemoth SUV to travel at that speed was no easy task however, requiring significant modification to the truck's chassis and suspension setup. The Land Cruiser's 381-horsepower 5.7L V8 also required a shot in order to prepare it for Land Speed Cruiser duty. Although the same basic architecture remains, Toyota was able to lift the V8's horsepower rating to more than 2,000 horsepower with the help of a pair of turbochargers said to be the size of volleyballs. A special transmission was installed to handle the power. "With the Land Speed Cruiser, we are breaking all of the normal conventions of what an SUV should be," said Steve Appelbaum, Toyota Motor Sales national marketing manager. "This is a vehicle is truly a feat of engineering."

AROUND 2,000 degree and diploma students who sat a statistics exam at the Singapore Expo on May 7 will have to take it again because of a mistake. The two-hour paper - set by the University of London (UOL) - did not contain the statistical tables needed for answering the questions. The students from various tertiary institutes here, including the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), were expected to answer eight questions in all. But with the tables missing, some parts of the questions could not be completed. The UOL e-mailed the affected students last Friday to apologise and said it would "commence a detailed deliberation of the assessment" for the subject and the impact the missing tables caused before marking. However, students received another e-mail yesterday informing them of the retest. Signed off by Mr Timothy Wade, associate director of assessment and awards for the UOL's international programmes, it said the exam had been "declared null and void". He added that the university had reviewed the situation and found that the first paper was "flawed" and "does not provide a fair test of candidates' abilities and proficiency in this course". Students can take a retest on either May 28 or June 3 and will not have to pay a separate exam fee. Those unable to make the two dates will have to take the exam next May, the e-mail said. Mr Wade added the university is "sorry that the delivery of the examination service has failed on this occasion". He said it will also review its procedures surrounding the production of exam papers, to ensure the error does not recur. The UOL told The Straits Times yesterday that it was acting "in the best interest of both its students and the integrity of its academic award" in calling for a retest. SIM, where most of the affected students are from, will also render help, such as holding optional revision classes. The module is compulsory for a number of UOL courses, including banking and finance, and business and management. UOL programmes are also offered at institutes such as PSB Academy. Second-year business and management student Ellen Chan, 21, is upset at having to retake the test. "Now we have to study for the paper again and I've already made holiday plans," said Ms Chan, who will return before the May 28 test. "I don't understand how the tables got left out. Why didn't anyone check the papers?" But banking and finance student Aizat Guan, 24, said the retest "is another chance... to complete the paper". He added: "I wasn't satisfied after sitting the first exam, as I couldn't complete it without the tables." In 2007, the UOL erroneously set a sociology exam paper with only six questions instead of eight. http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/education/story/2000-students-retake-exam-after-slip-20150515

Hi guys, What do u guys think of an Alfa romeo 156 2nd gen selespeed end 2000 with a coe of only $13000 ...Do u think it is risky to get one with a low coe one? understand that one of these of same age costs ard 73-78k region... had heard that it is inadvisable to get one with a low coe value since every soul in this country are so particular abt paper value ... and also the new 156 cost abt 100k ++ region... if that is true on the papers... is anything below 70 k a gd buy ?? test drove it already..it is in immaculate condition..the owner pay "tributes" to the agent religiously....not to mention the power band of this car..two thumbs up !!! handles well !! too bad it is not the behind the steering shift paddles...but still able to load me with lots of funs with the shift on the steering.... Hmm...can't wait to be an alfa romeoean....but uncertainties are delaying me at the moment..

Actually, i would like know the reason for such a phenomenom. $350k to $750k (3 to 5rm flat) With a cap of combine income $8k per month, is it really enough to pay for a HDB flat that cost that much? I can easily get a condo at that kind of price. Anyone know what's the reason for this phenomenom?

How Does Ur Car Performs?

Hi Guys, We are considering whether to bring in AMSOIL Series 2000 0W-30 with advance wear protection and fuel efficient formula. Highly recommended for repeated continuous high speed drive (like up and down the NS highway) and even for normal daily drives, it'll prove to maximize fuel efficiency. "Race-proven technology designed for passenger car performance. Provides unsurpassed fuel efficiency and up to twice the wear protection provided by popular conventional and synthetic motor oils." For more info http://www.amsoil.com/products/tso.html Indicative price will be about $25/quart (yeah I know it's a bit much). This oil surpasses Mobil 1 Tri-syn in wear tests! Recommended up to 3 times regular oil change interval We're NOT selling series 2000 yet, we want to gauge interest before deciding whether to bring in this racing performance oil. Cheers, Gavin
