Hi guys Just bought a new car. Can i do 1st services at says ard 1600-1800km instead of 1000km. Advice needed blw - no choice hv to drive up north. Back to Sin that time maybe hit between 1600 to 1800km liao - ppl said now new car factory run in already. SE told me it is ok one - anyone hv such real life example do 1st svs at ard 1600 to 1800km n now is engine runs ok or not? How many years drive - cannot do svs at 1k in Msia. All warrranty void -all advice needed abt this topic. Cos very worry Thks in advance -

Hi Bros, Going to get my new car soon. First time getting a "new" car, Friends been telling me that new car cannot go over 80km/h for the first 1000km. If not will harm the engine in the long run. Any truth in this??? Need to let the egine run in first? got such thing??? Regards, Alvin

Hi everyone, I have a question. When we talk about 1000km, 5000km & 10000km maintenance after you get a new car, do we refer to when the milleage meter hit 1000km, 5000km & 10000km, then we need to send the car for maintenance ? I am a bit confused because I sent in my new car after 990km milleage in Apr for maintenance at C&C. There was a sticker at the windscreen that says your next maintenance of the car shall be at 5990km or Jul 07 whichever is earlier. So, does the above means after 1000km milleage, after another 5000km milleage and after another 10000km milleage we need to send the car for maintenance ???

Hello folks, I'm driving a Lancer and need all your advice and pointers for my first 1000km servicing at C&C. What are the things I need to take note of for the servicing, for example what needs to be checked, engine oil? coolant? etc and what is the expected cost. Can give tips? I'm new to this whole business of car ownership.

A friend of mine recently got his mit Lancer. He sent the car for 1000km servicing to C&C srvice centre. The staff advise him to go for $95/- polishing & waxing saying that waxing is to protect the paint works and it is better to do early rather than later. Any sense to this ?

Just went for my 1st 1000KM servicing yesterday, and was top up with new mineral oil. was told to top up ONLY WATER, and not coolant in the radiator container(the white container, not the radiator itself). Anyone out there know what's the reason for not topping up with coolant, but only water? And why? When will be the best time to change to coolant? Will the radiator spoilt or damage last longer with water?

Hi guys, I have two opinions about my first 1000km servicing tomorrow, 17 Jun, I have booked with Kah already. Cos now my odo reach 970km. 1. My friend ask me to go to Kah Motor, even tough they charge ~$120 to have oil, oil filter/washer change + labor (He quote "Let Kah Motor sign the servicing card, if anything happen, you can use it against them") 2. My other friend ask me to go to his friend's friend workshop, to have it do the same for cost about half of it. (He quote "What for you are paying so much for the oil and oil filter? Dont let them makan you.") Now I dunno what to do... Please bros here, advise me..

Hi Guys If i'm up for 1000km servicing tomorrow, but due to unavailability of time slot, I was put on next wednesday time slot, will i be penalised? Cos by next Wed, my odometer would be at least 1200Km liao. Me driving a Hyundai Matrix. Servicing at Komoco Center.

saw some post mentioned that when new car hit 1000km should send it for the first servicing. my have hit 2400km+, but i have not do any servicing yet (according to manual should be 5000km than do). any advise!

My ride going for its 1st servicing next week. With so mnay type of engine oils around, can someone recommend which type of oil to go for? KAH service center will use shell helix fully synthetic if i dun bring my own oil. Pls help.
