  3. Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) has introduced the new high-performance 2007 Galant Ralliart model at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show. Powered by a 258-hp 3.8-liter V-6 engine and equipped with sport suspension, 18-inch wheels and exclusive exterior styling and interior features, the new Ralliart model spearheads the restyled Galant midsize sedan line for 2007. The new Galant models arrive in Mitsubishi dealerships this summer. The revised styling of all 2007 Galant models is highlighted by a sophisticated new front-end treatment. Interior design and materials have been enhanced, and ride and handling have been refined to provide greater comfort and a more engaging driving experience. Standard side curtain air bags have been added to the comprehensive safety package, which also includes advanced front air bags with occupant sensors and front seat-mounted side-impact air bags. "The 2007 Galant Ralliart makes a resounding statement about Mitsubishi's "Driven to Thrill" performance and design with its a bold, modern, and a uniquely Mitsubishi interpretation of what a midsize performance sedan should be," said Dave Schembri, executive vice president for sales and marketing for Mitsubishi Motors North America. "The Galant Ralliart shows the direction that we're taking both the Galant -- and the brand." Capable of accelerating from zero-to-60 mph in about seven seconds, the 2007 Galant Ralliart will challenge some of the best sport sedans while delivering renowned Mitsubishi value. New Styling, New Choices All Galant models for 2007 are identified by an updated, more sophisticated front end design featuring a new grille with chrome surround, plus a new front fascia and new bumper. The rear bumper fascia is also revised in line with the front appearance. The Galant Ralliart is distinguished by a sport mesh grille two-tone color bumpers, color-key side air dams, 18-inch alloy wheels and Ralliart badges. Its front end also stands apart from other Galant models with projector-style four-bulb ellipsoid headlamps. With the arrival of the Galant Ralliart for 2007, the GTS model assumes a more luxury-leaning role in the lineup, in place of the previous LS model. The Galant DE and ES models are powered by a 160-hp MIVEC-enhanced 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine teamed to a four-speed automatic transmission with Sportonic®, which enables manual shift control when desired. Ralliart: A Complete Grand Touring Performance Package Galant Ralliart has the heart of a high-performance GT car - the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, to be precise. Its 3.8-liter V-6 produces 258 hp at 5,700 rpm and 258 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,500 rpm, making it one of the most powerful import brand sport sedans in the segment. The Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control system (MIVEC) helps optimize power and engine efficiency across a broad engine speed range. As an example of MIVEC's benefits, the large-displacement V-6 is already producing 220 lb.-ft. of torque at just 2,000 rpm, giving the Galant Ralliart "right now" off-the-line response. The Galant Ralliart V-6 is matched to a new five-speed automatic transmission that features Sportronic. The GTS continues with a 230-hp version of the 3.8-liter V-6 and also gains the new five speed automatic transmission with Sportronic. The Galant Ralliart features its own, higher-rate springs and dampers and is exclusively equipped with a 21-mm rear stabilizer bar. The Ralliart's 235/45R-18 all-season tires are mounted to 18 x 8-inch 7-spoke aluminum alloy wheels. Inside, Galant Ralliart combines exclusive design and luxurious equipment, including standard perforated leather-trimmed seating surfaces, heated front seats, an automatic climate control system, a power glass sunroof with sunshade and Homelink transmitter with auto- dimming rear view mirror. Aluminum pedals and Micro-delta print accent panels further distinguish the Ralliart interior. Galant Ralliart Ready for Driving - and "Driving Music" Mitsubishi is the first auto manufacturer to factory-install the Rockford Acoustic Design premium audio system, making it standard equipment on the 2007 Galant Ralliart. This high-end audio system - one of the most advanced on the market - provides AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback capability, including a 6-disc in-dash CD changer. The linear 8-channel amplifier produces 360 watts continuous at less than 0.02% THD. A dedicated channel drives each loudspeaker for the ultimate in sonic control. Silk dome tweeters mounted on the leading edge of the dash produce a natural multi-dimensional soundstage. Digital Signal Processing optimizes output to provide user-selectable listening environments, including "Normal," "Studio," "Club" and "Concert." The Rockford Acoustic Design premium audio system is also available for Galant ES and GTS. Mitsubishi's partnership with Rockford began in 2006 with the Rockford-Fosgate Punch audio system offered in the Eclipse coupe (and now standard in the 2007 Eclipse Spyder). The good sounds continue in Galant Ralliart with the standard SIRIUS satellite radio package with six months' free subscription. This package, too, is available for the ES and GTS models. A new DVD navigation system with 7-inch touch screen is available as a factory option on the Galant Ralliart and GTS models. Galant Ralliart without the optional navigation system features a standard 4.9-inch color LCD display that provides outside temperature and a compass, as well as a trip computer with fuel mileage information, a door alarm indicator, maintenance recorder, and calendar. The display also provides an interface that allows owners to customize many of the vehicle's interior functions. Robust Platform for Sporty Driving Mitsubishi designed all Galant models to provide a sporty driving experience. Tweaking the body structure for greater rigidity enhances ride and handling in all Galant models for 2007. For the Ralliart model, the enhanced structure provides the ideal base for the exclusive sport suspension tuning and 18-inch alloy wheels with low-profile tires. The proven MacPherson strut design front suspension system attaches to a sub-frame with a large, rigid cross member for responsive handling and reduced noise, vibration and harshness. The low-mounted, multi-link rear suspension features stiff hydro-formed cross members that minimize flex and help reduce road noise. The Galant DE and ES models ride on standard 16-inch wheels with 215/60R16 tires; the GTS steps up to 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55R17 tires. Ralliart and GTS models feature a standard tire pressure monitoring system, which is included in the optional Sport Package for the Galant ES model. All Galant models are equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, with the GTS and Ralliart featuring larger front discs. The Ralliart in addition features larger rear discs. An anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) is standard on all Galant models, except the DE. Enhanced Refinement for 2007 Galant provides a roomy midsize package with 101.1 cu. ft. of passenger space and a generous 37 inches of rear legroom - more room than the MazdaSpeed 6 or Volkswagen Jetta GLI sport sedans. For 2007, new door trim, a new knit-fabric headliner, new steering wheel design and chrome trim details convey a more upscale appearance. New seat trim and color choices provide a warmer interior feeling than before. Premium Comfort, Great Value Customers can infuse the Galant ES with some of the style and comfort of the V-6 Galant models by ordering the optional Sport Package and Premium Package. The Sport Package adds head-turning style with 16-inch alloy wheels, dark bezel halogen headlamps, crystal covered ellipsoid rear lamps, and a color-keyed rear spoiler. Inside, the package equips the ES model with the Rockford Acoustic Design premium audio system and the SIRIUS satellite radio package with six months free subscription. The ES Premium Package brings in leather-trimmed seating surfaces, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, power glass sunroof with sunshade, auto-dimming rear view mirror with Homelink transmitter and additional trim details. The Sun and Sound option package for the Galant GTS essentially combines those two packages and adds an anti-theft alarm. All Galant models are built at Mitsubishi's manufacturing plant in Normal, Illinois, which also builds the Eclipse coupe and Eclipse Spyder and the Endeavor sport-utility vehicle. Mitsubishi cars and sport utility vehicles are backed by a comprehensive new-vehicle limited warranty that covers the vehicle from bumper to bumper for five years/60,000 miles. In addition, the powertrain is covered by a 10-year/100,000 mile limited warranty, while body panels have a seven-year/100,000 mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty. The program also includes 24-hour emergency roadside assistance with free towing to the nearest authorized Mitsubishi retailer for warranty-related repairs for five years/unlimited miles.
  4. With the COE getting higher, the days of changing cars regularly are pretty much over for most of us. So, to counter the itch of changing cars, more owners are putting in effort to change their current ride's look. With that in mind, the team at sgCarMart has been on the lookout for nicely done up cars and we spotted this clean looking Mitsubishi Galant at our usual lunch break hangout. Into its eighth generation, the Galant sold pretty well back in the early 2000s. While most of us will remember the high-revving VR-M and the turbocharged VR-4, it was the normal 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre that sold well. With most of the Galants gone from our roads(most of them did not survive after their COE expired), we were pleasantly surprised to spot this immaculate 2.0-litre example. Inspired by Chip Foose, star of the reality TV series Overhaulin' on Velocity, the owner modded his Galant in tune with the mid 90's JDM look. This meant that most of the stuff seen on the car are made around that period. Starting from the front, the stock bumper and grille that came with the car have been swapped with the JDM Galant VR-4's to make it look cleaner. The lights were smoked too. The side skirts were trimmed around the edge to make sure that it doesn't look too bulky. Loving the amount of details in this car! While the muffler tip has been changed to give it a streamlined look, the exhaust remains stock. And now to the wheels. After spending two years searching for it, the owner finally found his "Holy Grail"; a set of 18-inch ARD GT wheels. Conceived after a collaboration between ARD and 5Zigen, this is a rare three-piece rim that he wanted so much on his Galant. Coincidentally, the rims, which have been discontinued since 1996, falls under the correct period (90's). A Rear windscreen wiper was added for the JDM rally car feel. Yup. This is daily driven. Moving inside, A pair of retro-looking headrests as well as the rear view mirror were swapped with the stock ones. The rest of the car remains untouched, which is no bad thing since it is already pretty well-specced for a near-10-year old car. Sunroof and digital climate control are standard and the INVECS II automatic gearbox allowed one to manually shift, which was rare back then. Moving forward, there are plans by the owner to fully convert it into a true VR-4. We can't wait for it to happen!
  5. Hi I'm new here and I found this forum just when I try to search several major parts for my Galant 8G I'll do the introduction in here since I'm in desperate states and I'll explain why First of All I'm from Indonesia, kinda near huh ? I'm Mitsubishi Galant 8G M/T user (6A13 2.5 SOHC V6-24) and bought it last 3 month ago (of course it's second hand car) and recently doing some several project for it 1st Problem Right now I'm doing engine swap of 6G72TT M/T 1st generation (from GTO not 3000GT) to my Galant 8G and so far not quite good. I can't find any reference for help but I found some1 already done 6G74 swap to Galant 8G so right now I'm using that as reference though I don't know if it can help 2nd Problem (THE BIGGEST PROBLEM) I'm looking for Speedometer of Mitsubishi Galant Avance 2.5 V6-24 SOHC (6A13) M/T Euro-Spec. It's basically same type and has same engine at my country. The only differences are ours have much much more crappier interior quality including speedometer and Euro-Spec Galant is Left-Handed. To make it short, is there any1 that sell Speedometer of Galant Avance 2.5 V6 Manual(read up to 260 Km/h) ? Last time i went to SG, I've tried my luck checking most of the car junkyard at Woodland Industrial Park but no result. Any suggestion ? Sample Picture of Speedometer Galant Avance 2.5 V6 Manual: Not to mention it has different gearbox since I'm using 6G72TT (the speedometer only compatible with 6A13 and 6A13TT). So there's a huge chance the speed sensor and other sensor won't work (only the light / optitron will work since it's universal). So Any1 sell the speedometer (just exactly like at the picture) and have any suggestion bout how to match it to 6G72TT ? 3rd Problem (SECOND MAJOR PROBLEM) I'm also looking for MMCS 2nd Edition Wide screen from Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 Facelift Sample picture of MMCS 2nd Edition Wide Screen : Any1 know where I can buy it, I'm planning to install it to my Galant 8G. And any reference how to install it to Galant 8G 2.5 6A13 ? I'm sorry if u guys have a hard time understanding it since I'm not very good in english.

    New Galant

Took delivery of a new Galant 2.0GDI VRG today. Without the sports package, I got Yokohama A539 (205/50R16) with RacingHart M6 Monoblock. 16" with stock springs really look quite cartoon with Galant's wheel wells .. Planning 17" upgrade with lowering (Sachs Sporting Kit? [where?]) Also, what can I trade-in these 16" (tires+rims) for? Spare tire is a Bridgestone Potenza 15"?? Factory-fitted keyless entry is piggy-back by a local made alarm system called Cheetah made by a "Yatz Electronics". See link. The factory-fitted sunroof is quite cool. Besides the normal fully open and fully closed positions, it can (a) front-end remain close, back-end tilt open, and (b) stop the opening motion at any point to make it partially open. Suncool is default, installed by Vistica @ Sin Ming Dr with seven (7) years warranty. Cycle&Carriage paid them SGD950, according to the invoice. CD Changer is a 10-disc unit KDC-C717 by Kenwood. HU is a KRC-665 (1DIN) (see link) but this is a bo-bo as I'm supposed to get a 2DIN Kenwood (likely to be a DPX-4020 unit). Going back Pandan Gardens next week to rectify this.
  15. Did C&C sell a Galant (2002-2003) with all round disc brakes?
  16. I heard there are only 6 left out of 30 or 50 cars in total ! Is this true ?
  17. I was driving my Vios to work today and there was a massive jam just after the Farrer Road/Queensway McDonalds. At the roundabout exit towards Queensway, I saw a bike on the floor, with medics attending to the fellow. A Mitsubishi Galant had hit the bike. Hope the rider is ok. My passenger was commenting to me that the Galant driver was sitting inside his car reading newspaper while the medics were attending to the rider.
  18. I've been wanting to get a new car, and I have narrowed my choices down to 2 cars, namely the Peugeot 206 Xsi(1.6l Manual 3dr) and the Mitsubishi Galant Vr-G(2.0l Gdi auto) I'm still a single guy, so I still want some fun wiht the car, thus the choice of the 206Xsi. But the Galant being just 7k more exp for a bigger more luxurious car is tempting. But still the 206 Xsi is more fast, nimble and fun. What are your opinions? I'm still in a dilemma arrgh

  21. Galant Bros, Could any one advise some good rims upgrade for YR 2000 Galant MIVEC ( 4 x 114.12 PCD )? Looking for 17" or 18" rims. I have a friend who is looking for an upgrade for his stock 15". He is kind of interested with OZ rims but South East Tyre say that it is not available in 17" or 18" (no longer available). 23. Just saw the cosmetically enhanced Galant VR at C&C Roadshow at Caltex. Really like the foldeable arrow-winged side mirrors. Any idea, where can I obtain them and roughly how much will it cost. Regretted that I bought my Galant 10 months too early...Cheaper and looking more chio now...sigh

  25. I was on my way home alone just now at about 2.45AM when i was at Bukit Timah Rd at the cross junction of Bukit Timah and Bukit Panjang (Standard Charted Bank) When this black Galant swerve to the middle of the left lane so as usual i accelerated (since i was on the right lane) when he suddenly swerved back to the right lane i flicked my high beam but to no avail . As to avoid an accident because he was less then half a meter away from me i horned him and jammed my brake. So we stopped at the next traffic light and he still had the nerve to stare at me!! And my luck couldn't get any better when i saw he had a Girlfriend beside him and both started staring at me. I wish someone would teach these kind of people a lesson of putting down your pride or ego instead of getting so frustated at getting horned... . As my luck with bukit timah rd was to be challanged by other drivers this guy was no different...As soon as the lights turned green he speed off expecting me to race with him but i didn't have so much petrol to waste on him.!! The nerve of some people!!!! If you're wrong why don't you just admit it!?!?
