  1. TLDR; blur Chevrolet Cruze driver collides into Fiat Fiorino while recklessly swerving on the road. Watch the video for yourself below 293477688_565477225239846_1824659754857884933_n.mp4 The Chevrolet Cruze driver was caught on camera swerving into a Fiat Fiorino at 0.02 of the video. It looked like the driver was attempting to lane change but did not take note of the car beside him on the bend. Either that or the driver was simply unfocused or falling asleep at the wheel. Either way, it almost seemed like the driver was not focused on the road at all. Hopefully, the Fiat Fiorino was not damaged too badly. Netizen Comments Netizens speculate the cause of this reckless behaviour. Some suggest that the Chevrolet Cruze driver could have been using his mobile phone whilst driving and therefore was unable to focus on driving. Others claim that he might have been falling asleep on the road while the more understanding ones suggest that he could have been experiencing health issues that impacted his driving skills. Personally, I think that drivers who engage in reckless driving of this severity should get their license revoked for the sake of road safety. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. The new Chevrolet Cruze has not been brought in as of 2017. This model has been speculated to come on sale in sg by first or second quarter of 2018 (iirc) And since there is only talk about this model but no threads on it, I decided to take the initiative to start this thread. This model, if priced correctly, can sell adequately. For this model, there is only a 1.4 turbocharged Petrol or a 1.6 turbocharged Diesel engine, so the 1.6 NA will not be back... Dimensions : Wheelbase:2700mm Length:4666mm 4453mm(hatchback) Width:1795mm Height:1458mm 1465mm(hatchback) Weight:1195-1300 kg* * Chinese models. Rest of them are international (us ) models. Thanks.

  7. Hi I went down to the showroom and went for a testdrive on the new Cruze 1.4 turbo. Frankly, I was very impressed. My previous ride was a Ford Mondeo which I am scrapping. The low depreciation, very attractive pricing and overall ride is really tempting me. I have not owned a Chevrolet before and was wondering how is the service from Alpine Motors? Anybody can shed some light on this?

  9. GM Holden recalls 9,000 cars over faulty fuel hose Posted: 18 March 2010 1057 hrs SYDNEY: General Motors' Australian subsidiary GM Holden on Thursday recalled 9,000 Cruze sedans over a faulty fuel hose, after a raft of damaging glitches hit Japan's Toyota and Honda. A company spokesman said some of the hoses on 1.8-litre MY10 JG Cruze models had sprung a leak, and some owners may notice leaking fuel, a petrol smell or loss of power. No accidents or injuries have been reported. "A condition has been identified where, in some instances, the fuel feed hose may not have been manufactured correctly and could result in a fuel leak," the spokesman said in a statement. "We are aware of 71 cases of a reported fuel leak due to this condition." The recall, which affects 9,098 cars in Australia and another 485 in New Zealand, comes after Toyota pulled eight million cars over accelerator and brake problems. Honda has also recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles over substandard brakes, exploding airbags and power windows which risked catching fire. Daihatsu, a Toyota subsidiary, has been hit by similar problems. "We regret any inconvenience caused. However, safety is our number one priority and it is our duty of care to inform customers as soon as an issue comes to light," the Holden spokesman said.
  10. The Chevrolet Cruze, which is called the Holden Cruze in Australia, gets a new 1.6-litre turbocharged Ecotec engine 'down under' for MY 2014. The models which are equipped with the new power plant are the higher end SRi and SRi-V sports variants. The engine replaces the existing 1.4-litre turbocharged Ecotec. Although General Motors has introduced a new 1.6-litres SIDI (spark ignition direct injection) Ecotec engine, the new motor in the Cruze actually belongs to the existing range that also powers the Opel Astra 1.6 Turbo. The 1.6-litre force-fed Cruze pumps out 179bhp and 230Nm of torque. Buyers have a choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. It would be great if the turbocharged Cruze is offered here as the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine struggles to move the car according to some reviews. Like Singapore, cars in Australia are right hand driven. This could be the final enhancement to the existing Cruze as the prototype of the 2015 MY has already been spotted while undergoing testing.

  14. What you see in these pictures is the production version of the Chevrolet Cruze 5-door hatchback study, which was presented at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The compact hatchback version of the Cruze has lost some of the cool features of the concept car such as the LED strips on the front bumper, the blue-tinted headlamps and the clear crystal tail lights. The rest remains unchanged. The new body style looks a bit sharper and sportier than the four-door saloon, but due to the shorter rear overhang, cargo capacity for the Cruze hatchback is reduced to 400 liters, which is some 50 liters less than the sedan. Chevrolet decided to build a five-door version of the Cruze to cater for the European market, as 65 percent of all compact cars sold in Europe are hatchbacks. The car is slated for a Singapore debut before the end of the year too. Locally, the car will compete with models such as the VW Golf and the soon-to-arrive all new Ford Focus. Personally, I feel that the new Focus has a much more adventurous styling than the Cruze hatchback. The Cruze 5-door will share its engine lineup with the four-door model, which means buyers can choose between 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter gasoline units producing 124HP and 141HP respectively.
  15. [extract] The first generation Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan was launched in 2008 and the facelift version was presented at the 2012 Busan Motor Show. Hence, it is timely that General Motors begins the development of the second generation model. For the first time, the Cruze
  16. GM has issued a recall for the 2011 and 2012 model year Chevrolet Cruze sedans due to a potential fire hazard that could occur underneath the hood. The recall covers 475,000 vehicles made in the U.S between September 2010 and May 2012. This is the car's fifth recall since it arrived in the showrooms nearly two years ago, raising questions about the sedan's reliability. The company said that fires can ignite when fluids, mainly from improper engine oil change procedures, spill onto a plastic shield below the engine. Cruzes with worn-out manual transmissions also can leak fluid onto the shield in rare cases. GM will notify owners to bring their vehicle to local dealers for a 30-minute free rectification. The repair work involves cutting the plastic shield to let the fluids drain to the pavement, GM said. Unfortunately, the risk is real as GM is aware of 30 fire incidents caused by the problem. The lucky thing is that no injuries have been reported, spokesman Alan Adler said. Flames engulfed and destroyed two cars among the cases reported to federal safety officials. In a separate recall, GM says 249 units of the Cruze have welds missing from a bracket that holds the fuel tanks. Federal safety officials say the tanks could come lose in a crash, possibly leaking and causing fires. Dealers will secure brackets with fasteners. "The most important thing for our customers to know is that we are proactively working to assure the Cruze is the safe and durable car they purchased,
  17. dear bros and tai-gors out there I have my Cruze 1.6 LS (A) for a year now. And I am still clueless how to get rid of this buzzing noise coming from the seatbelt compartment (near driver’s right ear, where we grab the seatbelt). It is not there all the time, it is getting worse now. Being there most of the time. It can get worse triggered by songs with heavy bass (no kidding). It is not sound in my head (tested by other drivers). It sounds like friction to the seatbelt inside the compartment. Rubbing the seatbelt with by rough fingers can generate a similar buzzing noise. No way to stop it when it happened. It comes and go. It sometimes happen even when car not moving but only engine started. It is notice-able even with radio on because it is close to my right ear. The one on the passenger side has the same issue, not as noticeable because it is far from my ears. From the previous visits to Chevrolet center, test drive with the technician has failed to ‘simulate’ the buzzing noise. The technicians claimed they have opened up the seatbelt compartment but found nothing abnormal or faulty. Please let me know if anyone faced this similar issue and recommend me with the possible root cause and solution. Thank you very very much in advance Rocki
  18. I am thinking of buying the Chevrolet Cruze LS 2012. It is sad that the Alpine Motor did not bring in the 2013 version. I was told the first servicing at 1000 KM is free. May I know what is the mileage that the subsequent minor and major servicing will be done at? Also, how much will it cost for the minor and major servicing at Alpine Motors?
  19. Changed out my so-called sealed life-time transmission ATF fluid (Dextron VI) for the 2nd time. 1st time was at 55k km. This time 85k km. It was murky brownish red. Unfortunately its not a complete drain. Only 5L against a total of 7L. So still has a lot of old oil inside. Looks like need to do another change just to dilute the old oil further. Why would manufacturer suggest life-time use and design it to be service-unfriendly I don't understand.
  20. [extract] GM has officially added a third body style to the Chevrolet Cruze range, a station wagon. The all new body style will be making its global premiere at the 82nd edition of the Geneva Motor Show in early March. At 4,678mm long, the estate model is slightly longer than both the hatchback and the saloon variants. Although the Cruze station wagon

  23. Even before the Cruze made its international debut some one and a half years ago, there were talks about a 1.4L turbo version. The talk is now over and this variant of the American model was finally unveiled at the New York Auto Show, called the Cruze Eco. Starting with the front of the Eco, there's a new, wind tunnel-massaged front fascia complete with a class-first "Aero Shutter." Take a look at the air inlet area below the grill. During low speed city driving, the aero shutter is open. However, at higher speeds when cooling the turbocharged engine isn't as much of an issue, the shutter shuts to allow air to move more efficiently around the vehicle in order to reduce drag. There's a full-body underpanel to keep air from getting hung up on stuff like the exhaust and suspension components, as well as ultra low rolling resistance tires shared with the Volt. The Cruze Eco is only available with a manual option at the moment, which means that its chance of a Singapore debut is slim. The manual Cruze Eco has an ultra-tall 6th gear that allows the rpms to greatly drop when the vehicle is at cruising speed. The 1.4L Turbo powerplant features variable-valve timing technology and generates 138 horsepower @4,900 rpm, together with 148 pound-feet of torque @1,850 rpm.

    Holden Cruze FR

Rented one recently. Here's a quick FR on it: Styling: Everything identical to the Chevy Cruze. Nice exterior & interior styling for a B&B car. Dash controls are comprehensive and display looks impressive on first impressions. Reasonable roominess both in front and back. Boot can swallow a large 29" suitcase easily wif probably room for 2 more cabin bags. Driving Impressions: Steering could do wif abit more feel. Quite at idling but engine is quite vocal (and not the nice type) and coarse when revved; which is something one has to do quite often since the 1.8L engine is hopelessly underpowered. I can't imagine how the SGP-spec 1.6L auto can even move.... Ride quality is pretty firm (almost conti-like) and NVH is reasonable. Car was shod wif standard-issue 15" Kumho Solus and as expected, handling ain't exactly the sharpest. Built Quality: Looks nicely put together....until you shut the doors, that is. Typical tin-can, hollow sounding doors lets it down. Otherwise the touch points on the interior seems ok. Conclusion: The 'New Chevy" seems to be on the right path to recovery. Makes the Aveo, Optra and whatever stuff they used to make look prehistoric. But the weakest link is still the engine. The 1.8L simply doesn't cut it in this package. Read somewhere that GM is developing a new 1.4L Turbo for it, thank goodness. Since the new Astra runs on the same platform as the Cruze, there's hope yet. At least GM Korea improved on their styling but it's still no Peter Schreyer masterpiece. Overall, nice but there are still better B&B cars out there.
