(World of Wheels has posted this reply on http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=118707&page=3 )
Soon after i made my downpayments and cash for accessories like any ordinary person would. I realised that i was actually issuing cheques to the saleman under his name. First initial "Booking Fee" was placed under company.

Cute- i'll be posting my findings after communicasia.
i am not paid for these reviews - those that know me and even the manufacturers themselves who have met me know that i am definitely not short of money. this is a passion which no amount of money can buy - i make much more from the stock market than whatever these guys can offer anyways
Gimmy, not everyone is as money grubbing like you - people actually do things out of personal interest without requirement for compensation. i'm not a hakkinen or schumacher, but i know my stuff. but these are two completely different comparisons. Companies pay celebs for endorsements, and between you and me, i would rather trust a user review in the forum. Just because brad pitt wears a tag carrera doesn't mean it's good, forum users will tell you that the valjoux 7750 mvt sux for example - power of forum reviews
in a nutshell, whether you guys believe it or not, maxzone is crud and ezstab works. i'll tell why after communic

While i respect your views, i take a contrarian view. Channels of communication - forums, blogs, newspapers, ST Forum - exist for people to share viewpoints, information and to debate. If everything is to be settled internally, journalists will be out of a job, and ST Forum and Stomp won't exist.

yeah, i too am looking for an equiv of a Chip Foose in Singapore - or at least someone that is great with airbrushed paint designs
i don't think such a person exists here
-
nope i am not the original poster of the sviper story. What i was referring to - 'the poster' - is the guy who posted that cease and desist defamation thing
-
There definitely is an opportunity for the poster of the WOW cease-and-desist in rx8club.com and civic-fd to defend himself/herself. heck, we don't even know if the poster's identity is legit or whether tis a prank, so on the basis of hearsay, it will not be socially responsible until that person's identity is verified

Thanks. I think that the posts here are without malice aforethought, but a genuine concern on the part of us consumers to seek clarification from them.
-
yup, i bought my ride from huayang - SE was terribly dimwitted, but super honest. Some PIs are better than others - at least in the honesty department.
-
not me dude, i merely report the news as is presented to me.

Agree with you, let the judge make the judgement - and let's make this even bigger by getting CPIB to audit their books to see if everything is kosher. This event is backed by signed documents by the salesperson, and multiple, unrelated 3rd parties.
The post by sviper which is replicated stated a true situation by the salesman, which unfortunately for WoW, represented them at the time of the sale. How this affects WoW's reputation is up to public interpretation.

From Sviper - previously posted on RX8Club:
About time i came out and let the whole world know about this. I just recieved my Rx8 last month after a heart wrecking 3 month wait for it. Trust me when i say heart wrecking. For that 3 months i was constantly being tossed from left to right by the PI and the salesman who handled my sales. By not disclosing the names of the PI and salesman, i wish not to further bring up past disputes or quarrels against other PIs and salesman.

Just a thought, on the RXReview webby, it was posted that the battery voltage is low and the from the pix of the battery, the date is sometime in 2005, could these be the reasons that EZ-STAB don't work as it suppose to? I would have thought that since the cabin lights are dim, it might be related to a battery or perhaps an alternator issue.
Battery was just over a year old. I just changed to a new Amaron to be fair. i'll be posting findings this weekend

Errr... i dun think he's referring to me, the mod's referring to this guy called killerpenguin. anyways those that follow my reviews know i very aboveboard one - pek si pek, orr si orr.

Hi Gadgeteer, how does one find out if multiple nicks/posts are from the same source? similar IP?
-
Thanks Teoweeli. I'm reserving all comments till after i've done a thorough review to be fair to the manufacturers.
Dynos are always done at ST as it will not be funded by the manufacturers to keep editorial integrity.

UPDATED: RXReviews will be doing an extended review on the Max Zone GT, culminating with a shootout between Max Zone GT & EZ-Stab Extreme. I'll post my first impressions here , syndicated forums, and on RXReviews this weekend. Watch out for it!

Watwheels, be fair to them lah. Some buyers want to be triple sure before they buy anything mah. Also, most of the time, those 'try on the spot and works' claims are psychological - pple want to believe it works.
circuit - yes it seems that an ecu reset does affect how it works - at least on my 8. Which may indicate that if your ecu is a self learning type like mine, any beneficial effects could wear off in due time.
I'm on my 3rd week of trialing the EZ-Stab Extreme and will put in my findings soon.
-
zhun bo, $600 - if it's really $600, then definitely not worth it liao !!!
-
LOL very strong words. I cannot comment on the black box or about sim lim tower - but i don't think that most brands - even Pivot - have fuses against short circuits.
I tell it as it is - the original 'normal' ezstab didn't work on my 8 at all. The 4th variant of the extreme that Jon customized for me seemed to improve power/response, but at the expense of aircon output. anything other than these results, i won't comment until time is allowed for a full review.
-
Very cute leh some of the replies here. I don't know how an electric mod like EZ-Stab can improve things like smoother shifting in the AT, etc etc - all these are in the mind, all psychological. All mods have tradeoffs - there is no such thing as an electrical mod that does all in one - make shifting smoother lah; headlamps brighter lah; this lah that lah.
BUT what the EZStab extreme - in these couple of weeks - does is this in my humble opinion:
- it's made the engine feel a little more powerful and responsive, improvement in mid range, barely noticeable improvement in low range, zero improvement in high-range
- completely no improvement in mileage
- aircon is less cold noticeably
The EZStab extreme does what i wanted it to do - make my ride more responsive and hopefully, more powerful. I believe that my version of the EZStab Extreme tricks the alternator to think that battery is more than full, thus lowering its workload restoring power robbed back to engine. Side effect is a warmer aircon, no effect on my ICE though.

With a good piggyback like emanage ultimate and a good tuner, you can tune for:
- optimum stoich: more power, normally slightly worse fc (holy grail, hard to achieve)
- lean: less power, worse fc, hotter temps
- rich: more power, worse fc, cooler temps
-
Yes, i will be doing a dyno run sometime down the road when i do a full review. in the preview article that's out this week, it'll be based on gtech & obdII/canbus charts over time first. I'll do it on a 1-2yr old vehicle, which is the best median age for cars.
All non force-inducted cars, whether drive-by-wire or mechanical typically have the same improvement characteristics:
AFR: Better mileage and power
Ignition: A bit better mileage and power
Underdrive/alternator: Power (except supercharging, which is norm belt-driven)
An electrical modification does not improve smoother transmission shifts - Better ATF or MT oil does this; and a non multi-capacitance bank mod like EZ-Stab doesn't really improve serious ICE performance, as that's a function of more powerful batteries, or super-capacitance in lieu. A lot of times, claims to this effect is in the mind - lol what i call Post Purchase Positive Parity (P4)
What i think EZ-Stab is trying to do is to clean out the voltage system, maintain consistent ignition voltage (how it does this only from battery terminals is a wonder) and lessen alternator load thereby freeing up engine power, and it should be doing this across closed and open loops. I've yet to see this but let me test the EZ-Extreme and find out. :)
MAX ZONE, A Sinful Experience
in Performance and Tuning
I have to agree with Gimmy.
Keith10, you really sound like a maxzone sales person, and for your info your 'review' ranks as one of the most ridiculous ones i've ever read
Now that communicasia is over, i'll be getting back to my ez-stab vs maxzone review and will be posting that soon. I'm not gonna comment on the ezstab, but maxzone CONFIRM STAMP CHOP DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED
