Starlet EP80 reversing gear with sound

Hi,

 

Need to check i have a problem when i step in the clutch and put to reverse gear i have a problem in going in and need to slam in hard and when its in reverse gear the whole vehicle vibrate violently and die flat.. what is the main cause to it,thanks and urgently need a reply.

hmm, possible gear box problem. ummm, do u have trouble going from first to second gear while moving?? moving fwd got problem??

!st gear to 5th gear no problem.. but only somtimes so have fear it it lei..

some times 1st gear in also wil have proble but less.. me on night shift now that is why able to check.

either gearbox or clutch prob...suspect is the former

EP80 is a 10yr plus car....its norm. Mine has the same problem. Happens when your clutch is wearing out....check with the Starlet Master Genie if you have doubts or if it bothers you. Try double clutch before you engage your reverse gear.(pump the clutch twice before engaging)

hee hee, a perfect excuse to change to a racing clutch. lighten flywheel...4-1 extractor, hehehe...just becos of a 'gearbox problem'

Don't think is the clutch. If there is a clutch problem, it is unmistakable. Every gear you engage, the revvs fly very high and you seem not to be moving much and then suddenly some kind of "turbo boost" comes in and the car surges forward.

 

Time to look at the gearbox and see what is wrong. Get a mechanic's opinion. There are plenty of gearboxes in the scrapyards.

Could be from 250 to 300 but don't take my word for it. Hunt around.

Scrapyard. Try to get one at 200 if you can.

It stops halfway until I half clutch then the

gear stick will be engage fully..
