sorry if i seem to have a 100 questions... sources for this car is very limited.

planning to wire up the sunroof motor too (motor came with open ends) but got stunned cos the motor wiring have so many colours (blue, brown green... etc) was just expecting the red and black.. [:/]

hai so frustating and complicating... and now i can't drive at night cos after changing the diy open pod intake, idling became screwed and when i turn on the lights the engine dies. even the aircon compressor on engine also dies at idle. *pulls hai*

it is house by a silver metal housing, behind this housing shd be the plastic tube that u have mentioned.

Sure no prob, can show u during meetup.

oh, quite strange that the open air pod intake affects the engine...too much air? shdnt be.

I had this engine died 3 days ago when i was hitting 4th gear and after off A/C, car back to normal. Hence drove to mech and found alternator "ki chia" liao.

Hmm...send it to my mech...he is unable to arrest the sound...coz sometimes have sometimes dun....so he just oil the sus and doors for me...

I'll like to try other mechs...any recommendations?

==========================

Check the rubber bushings on the rear trailing arms & the ARB.

I also have sound for some time already & narrowed it down to the bushings. Going to get them changed when I have some time. Had the sound even with brand new shocks so cannot be my shocks.

Let us know if yours is also the bushings. [flowerface]

hiz~ my swift is leaking water!

the rubber on the window linings and rear windshield have gone bad i guess.. especially when i parked under the hot sun for a whole day and parts were cracked open. don't dare drive in the rain.. and washing it has become a chore as have to clean the inside of water also..

anyone changed the whole car's set of rubbers before and how much did it cost?

[shakehead]

thnx

Consider using a silicon sealant. Apply it around the whole windshield where the balck rubber meets the glass & also metal body.

Follow the instructions on the tube. I used selleys b4 & it worked to stop the leak for several years till I sold the car.

juz did a diy session...found again leaky coolant at top rubber hose...

i pull out the hose out...all green coolant from that portion drained out..

Next bought from hardware shop the same ring hose fastener (screw type) for $1...and that $$ simon charged me $4 each then.

Put the fastener through the hose and use my bull strength to go through the top housing valve. Then tightened the fastener.

Top up radiator...

Perfect...better than simon ...zero leak thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

Hi...thanks for your help.

I've already resolved the grock-grock sound from my ride. Replaced the lower arm joint and the rubber caps (with my mech applying lotsa grease). No more sound liao till today. [thumbsup]

Is this what you meant by bushings?

Ah so. U r lucky that the leak was at the clip part. Just cut away the part of the rubber hose that has the leak & if not too much, just put the hose back & tighten the metal ring clip.

If the rubber is still in good condition, can use sommore. But make sure the rubber is not soft or cracked or bulging. Then it's time to change the hose.

Remember to also check the bottom hose & any other hoses for worn rubber. Might as well check both at the same time just in case.

Simon charge $4 for the ring as he will tell u his is from USA. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Maybe u can try this: Place sticky or scotch tape along the top & bottom edges, making sure it's free of dirt & oil/grease, exposing the areas u need to silicon.

Apply the silicon evenly & when slightly set, remove the tape. This will give u a neat edge to the silicon. It will flatten off as it dries to leave a thin flim to seal against leakage. Do the whole windscreen edge if u not sure where the water enters.

Let it dry in the sun if possible for a few days b4 touching it. It sud b pretty durable by then but just b extra careful when u wiping the area.

I used Selleys Silicon in a tube the size of a toothpaste tube. Dont use the industrial type they use to stick glass windows together. This type will NOT flatten out as it dries & will look ugly. Look for the type that leaves only a thin film as it dries.

Rubber bushings r like rubber plugs which prevents the two pieces of metal from touching or rubbing against each other when the part moves due to the suspension set-up moves up & down, with the bolt or ARB going tru the hole in the center.

Anyway glad u solved your problem, but if the rubber is already worn, the sound will come back when the grease rubs away. Only way to solve then is to change the rubber.
