Hi Ninerbee2

Can i ask which PI allowed you to test drive the Airwave? I'm considering it but feel very uneasy buying a car without test driving it. I'm trading in my Honda Jazz reluctantly, it's a great car but bought at high price so better to scrap it.

I'm also concerned about the following so-called weaknesses of the Airwave, can anyone care to advise me if these can be fixed?

1. Weak air conditioning system - apparently takes quite long to cool entire car, my concern is fogging of the windows when it rains and the air-con can't cool interior on time.

2. Difficulty in parking - blind spots and car quite long with small rear window

3. Japanese car manual - don't think I can learn japanese on time to translate it!!

Thanks in advance, really grateful for any type of advice. [;)]

Enigine similar to Jazz but is a VTEC;

Rear view is quite restrictive but like all else in life, one can get used to it very quickly and adapt. But most Pi ofers reversing camera for free, so no problem there.

Have no problem with my aircond. Cools pretty quickly and well.

Jap manual problem, but if you have the Jazz/Fit manual, the engine /servicing is same.

Generally I dun expect trouble from Honda cars in general.

But, as said by other brother, you have a host of choices of AD with mainstream makes and models. With a budget of $60,000-70,000, you have a lot of options.

But none there beats the Jazz/Fit/Airwave FC and low maintenance costs.

1. I bought mine from Pinnacle (SE is Philip Tan), and 2 of my other colleagues whom I recommened also got their Airwave/s there. All no problem, with guarateed COE, all within 4 weeks. So far, so good.

2. Insurance bought from PI as well, Royal & Sun Alliance, @30% NCD, costs $770 (including a $80 extra cover for the moonroof. Must use their (insurers') workshop which includes STAR and ComfortDelgro, which PI allowed. Reasonable. BTW, AIG quoted a bomb compared to Royal & Sun.

3. dun think VTEC big issue here as its a small cc VTEC, < 1.5L, less than 110 bhp.

Overall, it is good car to hv except for the high speed handling which i found it was too light. Some sort of uncomfortable feeling.

i also don't quite used to the high speed handling. seems like it will move to the side if the hands are not controlling. but overall it's a good car in terms of power, speed ,space and fuel consumption compared to my previous car which is the vios.

is there any difference between the 4 speed G model compare to 7 speed L model in terms of acceleration, power, top speed and FC?

Cant decide on whether to get the G or L model.

Its not actually 4-speed; its the same CVT with a range of gears between. The final gear ratio is same for the G model and the 7-speed L model. Only that the 7-speed meant a pre-set set of gear ratios between the range of gears in the same CVT box. So, no diff in speed, Fc, but can pretend to be Alonso driving a F1...Of course, the 7-speed comes only in L model, with steering control for gear change, diff color instrument clusters and the gear number is displayed on the dash. And digital aircond. And external temperature display. All for about $3000 more. Worth it?
