Honda Airwave

I paid $66300 before rebate, for my Airwave with moonroof ( and a list of assessories). I have to insure with Sun Alliance, @30% NCD, costs $755.00. (including $80 more for moonroof.) I think the 'market' price amongst PIs for a moonroof Airwave's about $66000-$68000. If you get cheaper, do worry whether you'll get it delivered quickly. I believe with PIs, the higher-priced cars ensure faster delivery.

Mopstly 'G' models. 'L''s OMV is too ex but you'd get digital aircond, 7 pre-set speed paddle shifter, matt silver rear trim and side badge, inside chrome door levers and external temp monitor.

But moonroof is quieter during rain, than tinroof. Guess the glass' thicker than a metal roof. I do not think it will crack easily. Dun park right below your flat or any high-rise blocks. Park away in an open area. Safer.

Thanks for good advice, SUV8. U sound very experience with the car feature. I too found the Yokohama tyres noisy. So what is your recommendation if I would to change the tyres.

Wow, 60K is very good price, I paid my for 62 plus. Collected my car in Mid Dec 06, quite happy with it.

Does anyone knows where can i buy a retractable cover for the boot?

Thanks

Change tyres? its a matter of dollars and cents. The original Yokohama Aspec seems nosiy at first; after 1500 km it seems to quieten down. Or am i used to it?

But i could suggest you use it through the first 1000-2000 km to see whether it really quietens down after some wear. Else spend about $320-350 for a set of 4 new Bridgestones GR80. But then at those prices, you could surf the 'net for a 2nd-hand set of very good condition 15" rims with tyres...for between $350-$500....choices choices choices [:p]

I believe for $62k u can collect your car sooner. I actually waited for 2 months plus (after 3rd bid) for my car delivered.

Me too interested in the retractable cover. Anyone could help?

Let me see -

1. i am using RON 92. thats right. Once a month i top up with RON 95. No difference at all. I use SPC. Born from my experience witrh different cars I owned (Renault Scenic, Rover 820, Citroen XM, Suzuki Grand Vitara) that no harm came out of it over the 3-5 years I've used 92 on all of them.

2. Instrument lights are always on. I believe these may be fibre-optics type, so long lasting.

3. from the threads here, I understand Airwave uses timing-chain, which is good news. These chains very rarely breaks and usually lasts 200,000 + km till it gets horribly noisy, which means time to change.

I paid $66300. This is before rebates, cashback. Guaranteed one-bid COE and no top up. Comes with moonroof, Tv tuner, reversing camera, reversing sensor, 14" sports rims, DVD player, HID headlights ( i heard currently includes GPS navi system). From Pinnacle Eunos. My SE is a chap named Philip. Very hardworking, helpful and not pushy. I think my price is higher than other PIs but I took delivery within 3.5 weeks. For me, worthwhile, less worries. If you are interested, PM me and I can call up Philip for you. Introduced 2 of my office colleagues to him and they signed up. Cheers !

I heard the top brand is Mugen 0-20w, so-call specially formulated for Honda Airwave... but expensive for a mineral oil. I serviced at 1000 km using Elf 100% synthetic 20-40w. Been using that for all cars I've owned for many years. Seems ok, cheap. I did the servicing at Motorgard (Tampines, behind Tampines SAFRA, near Jackspeed, Falconair etc), < 1600 cc costs $48 plus one original Honda oil filter.

Happy to see proud ownership and joy in your ride ! cheers !

wahaha...if those PIs can deliver their rides to us on time minus all those bull***t stories, i hide one corner and laugh. To be able to get a translated copy of the manual from them is a BIG BONUS cos airwave does not have English manual as it is a JDM model.

So far i have not heard any bros holding the translated manual. If have...share leh.

All those jap words in the manual is really making me [dizzy]
