Ah yes that's it! Rubber band effect! The more I lut the tighter and draggier the engine seems to be! That's the exact term lol

Engine braking also slows the car down quite considerably, can feel the pulling back effect

Ya. By right given the low weight of this car, it should have better free rolling..but the eng brake is significant..maybe the tyres affect too. Henceforth for city driving, and given the lesser toeque of vezel, our fc is not favourable. Edited by Andyngps

Change to a higher RON rating  or a different petrol brand.

In Europe Vezel name is HR-V. I make a test drive (1.5 engine + CVT transmission) and found that it meets all my expectations: decent power output, excellent equipment package, great VSA (vehilce stability assist) - I checked it at 110 km/h driving uphill and downhill changing lanes at critical angles. The VSA corrected my stile of driving by speed correction keeping it in safe range. CVT transmission is little bit noisy but in reasonable limits.

Currently I drive Nissan Qashkai 2.0 engine with 144 hps. Comparing these two cars I can say that Qashkai is more sporty but 130 hps engine of HR-V is more than sufficient because its weight with full fuel tank is only 1249 L.

After the test drive I'm absolutely sure that my decision to exchange my Qashkai (7 years old) for new HR-V is a good choice.

Reasons? Almost the same size, boot capacity, very good fuel economy, fun to drive.

HRV does not have 130 bhp, only 118 bhp. Vezel has 129 bhp.

When I first got my car  , I use 92 RON.. Had excellent mileage up to 19km / litre.. I assume that my PI use 5-40 type of oil..

When I change engine oil  5-30  , I no longer can use 92 RON.. Had to switch to 95 RON  to see a vast improvement in power and mileage.

If I use 92 RON..  my pickup is very sluggish on ECO mode. Now using 95RON .. pick up on ECO mode no problem

Came across this. url below :

1. A Misconception that higher RON gives higher power.... not entirely true.

2.. Bottom line of the msg  is that different gas companies for the same RON rating have different levels of fuel density which affects the performance of the engine.

Intresting read... Enjoy..

Hi Mazda 6 owners, some reviews I've read online said the cabin can be noisy. Is that true on Singapore roads?

How do you feel the suspension? Is it bumpy or just nice?

As I told before the HR-V that sold in my country has 130 hps

In addition it has ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System)+VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist)+EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution)+HSA (Hill Start Assist)+DWS (Deflation Warning System)+HSA (Hill stat assist)+CTBA (City-Brake Active System)+Hold switch button+EPS (Electric power steeering)+electric parking brake+cruise control with speed limiter+Headlight Auto On/Off function+dusk sensing auto lights+parking sensors front and rear (option)+heated front seats+electrically retractable door mirrors+touch screen android multimedia center with I-Go and Waze GPS software.

This information I copied from my car order and provided catalog.

Apologies, Boeing. Didn't know you are from Europe. In Singapore, HRV only has 118 bhp. On the other hand, the Vezel which is imported by PI has 130 hp.

Yes,compared with Nissan Teana,Toyota Camry & Honda Accord,Mazda 6 is noisy, but suspension is tuned for Sporty driving,so also more bumpy,if you are looking for a Comfort & Quiet car,Mazda 6 is not for you....if you like very good handling with nice sporty shape..this is the car.

In Singapore, the HRV is listed as 118HP only. Same engine and different output.

Boeing, whats the typical petrol RON in your country?

True. Also I figured that petrol car will never be stellar in city driving.

From several tests, I tested and achieve the followings:

1. Pure expressway ~22kml

2. Pure city with many traffic lights ~ 11kml

3. Mixed driving 50/50 ~13kml

Guess only hybrid will do well in city as the car moves off in electric mode.
