No matter how nice the car is, Best is don't buy PI cars.

If you do your homework right and research about the car as well as PI that you are dealing with, I don't really see a big issue. However, with that said, if a car is readily available in local market by local authorised dealer and the specs are same and pricing difference is not too big(6k+ and above difference), there is a chance that I will go with the authorised dealer.

If a car is available through AD, is a more worry free transaction and ownership within warranty period & recalls.

In the case of Honda Vezel, Kah Motor's HRV does not even have a fighting chance in terms of specs and pricing.

Not too sure about the so called "Japan Vezel" that KAH is claiming to bring in according to what some people have heard from KAH SE so far.

Since I am driving a Vezel now (got it 2 Friday ago) I would like to say don't be overly worry about the recall. If Vezel can so easily catch fire than LTA will be even more worry than you. Imagine if our Vezel catch fire in any of the service station. Just 1% of the Vezel population. The implication will be too huge for LTA.

I am not dismissing the recall. If you has gotten from PI which track record of recall tHan shouldn't be a worry to you. Even though small PI which gotten from other direct importer your record can still be traceable from LTA and the direct importer. A colleague brought a fit from one PI. A year later she gotten a letter from another PI (direct importer) to recall the car for repair.

Let just be patient and wait for the recall. Dont stress yourselves unless you want to sell it. Hahaha. Nothing much you can do now. Maybe like some bros said disactivate the stop/start function for the time being.

Another point like to share. Singapore isn't the only country that do direct importing of JDM vehicle. China/India likewise has direct importers.

There is no regulation in this car industry. Chances of small PI not honouring their promises is very high.

There are so many out there got screwed by Pi. If one already have gotten their rides then no choice.

I would be crazy to buy now when i know there is an expensive fix that you may not know if they will honour later.

At least wait till it got settled.

You are wrong, very wrong in this line of thinking. Just proven wrong recently with 2 of my colleagues who went through many sleepless nights despite the PI being reputable. Some others also affected. And now they are worrying about the recall.

Don't ask me which PI. If you are not aware, means you have not done enough homework.

Really depends on your personal needs. For me, I didn't even consider the 2 litre version as I'm generally quite a slow driver and I always keep my RPM below 3k. I don't see a need for me to get the 2.0 version.

But if you are heavy footed or travel on the NS highway in Malaysia pretty often, you might consider the 2.0 version.

If the selling price is within 5k difference, I would take the 2.0. But bear in mind the higher road tax & maintenance in long run.

How reputable is your term of reputable? Sgcarmart trusted dealer?? Hahaha

One fine example, go with Hup Long. I personally have not bought from them but take a look at their previous recall campaigns.

Do not trust those PIs who are new in the market. Do not trust their advertising gimmick with good customer relationship, satisfied customers pictures posted on their facebook etc. These are fake ones...

Agreed!
