heard from my mechanic that K&N filter do not need frequent cleaning as it will shorten the lifespan of the filter.recommended oiling is 30k km to 50k km....gd point of K&N to me,is a more smoother pickup...cheers [sunny]

Maybe, can take it out & dust it abit as Bro Genie had mention that we can actually use K&N without cleaning it for a long long time [;)]

got every 10k will take out n dust during servicing. but never oil. i think oiling is also impt , as the oil attracts the dust

hehe, just dropped the K&N into my ride.

Flew down the PIE back home (of course slowing down at those camera zones). Definitely, there's a performance increase. Not so evident with air-con off, as my Swift is capable of quick pickup without air-con. But even with air-con on, I am feeling no power difference. Car doesnt seem to choke between 1-2nd gear change.

This K&N is actually working... [thumbsup]

Gonna see if it affects FC.

I'll second the claim that there is some improvement performance wise, but a word of advise, use the oil sparringly when you clean your filter cause it has the tendency to get sucked in and could potentially ruin your Mass Air Flow sensor - like what happened in my 318iA ........expensive exercise to replace. These days, I just use the normal stock filters and change them more often.

bro..hows ur K&N coming along? i'm thinking of changing my stock filter to K&N..was wondering any performance increase in the low end? or it affects the high end more..coz sg ah, usually max rev til abt 2.5-3k rpm..

and the maintenance part..do they provide the oil with the filter itself? and how to oil it?

The cleaning kit which consists of a bottle of cleaner and oil which has to be purchased separately.

Save your $$$ and stick with paper filters, K&N ain't going to do much as the restriction lies with the stock intake.

plan to remove my resonator box too..and channel the intake pipe to somewhere cooler with less restriction..but i'll stop short of a CAI..since the chance of sucking in water is higher..
