Try Mcwell, they have the OWS and Mobil 1 synthetic package which is quite cheap...

OWS engine flush, engine protector and Octane booster with Mobil 1 oil for abt $80 or $90.00, I think.

better give them a call to check....

yo thanks..even if mcwell is cheap..i won't go there. The overall impression last time when i was there is that only chao bengs who dunno anything abt cars go there and just put any stuff in. Pardon me...hehe.

For basic servicing, it is OK, you are not putting those STUFFS into your car. Just ignore those chao beng loh.....

You only want best value for money servicing package only..... Why care abt the rest.....laugh.gif

hi guys,

my car is due for its 40,000km servicing soon. Was hoping to get the following fluids replaced as well:

a. Toyota Long Life Coolant

b. Manual Transaxle fluid (SAE 75W-90)

c. Brake Fluid (DOT 3)

Have been to Fong Tat ( At serangoon rd) and Connald (At Verrasamy Rd) and was told that they don't sell servicing stuff. Many other shops that I have been to only sells the brake fluid. Found Autobacs to be the only place so far which carry the above products. but somehow I get the feeling of putting my head on the chopping board. [knife][sweatdrop]

Anybody has any good recommendations or lobangs to get the stuff? [:)]

btw I am driving a 99 Toyota Echo.

All these stuff you can get from the petrol station....Use dot 4 brake fluid instead of Dot 3....As for Collant, any type will do, but do flushing first....

IC... hmm, thks. [:)]

Didn't pay much attention to such stuff whenever I am pumping petrol, but will do so from now on. Any particular reason for using DOT 4 instead? is it supposed to be the "synthetic" version of brake fluid?

i tried lookin for 75W90 too last time at the places u mentioned. It seem they sell in bulk quantity and not per bottle. I ended up buying at mobil station.

I met up with my good friend few weeks ago. He told me that he went to Mc**ll for their engine flush package.

Told me the mechanic rev his engine until got burning smell. He went back to Mazda, turns out that some components in his engine melted, so needed to change!

My guess is that given the lack of moving air, the engine overheated and those non-metallic parts melted.

Anyway my friend did not claim back from them.
