i saw a promo for Sonax on Deal.com. Wonder if they will coat 1 layer less cos it's a promotion ! :o

 

Not sure about that but I went to their shop that is directly under them. Hear they material supply to other grooming centres also that use their brand, but felt more assured to use the one that is directly owned by them.

Seen good reviews on REVOL Carz Makeover and tried to make a grooming appointment on Monday with them but they were fully booked. They will contact me if there is available slot, two days later, they called me as promised. Went down today and they briefed me on the various packages, settled for GoldShield Foundation. Their customer service is good and even one of their staff, Alan send me to IMM using their car.

 

 

They did a fantastic job rejuvenating and cleaning my driver and front passenger leather seats, been trying to remove the colored stains before but no avail. Car body now looks pristine and shining after the grooming although it is 8 years old. Gavin explained in detail the grooming process done and he himself was proud of the result.

I did some research and wanted a one-stop shop for car respray plus interior grooming.

 

Revol is one of the few that does both.

 

I have just dropped off my car for respray plus grooming. Price was comparable to other respray shops I have enquired. Most just do respray and no grooming. I figured if my car's exterior swee swee, the interior should be likewise.

 

Waiting to see the transformation of my old car. ..life extension programme as I figured I will renew COE when the time comes or sell it by myself to get a new car. Either way I enjoy a refreshed car for the current lifespan of about two years and the next owner would get a car that looks good and runs well as I am eyeing a 7 seater for my next car.

 

Transformation will be completed by early Dec...with updates from Revol via whatsapp every few days.

I have used them and found their service to be good and their product, ie the shine, also very lasting.

 

I would definitely recommend friends to go.

 

I groom the car in intervals of 5-6 months. less hassle also......last time sign up for cheap grooming gotta go to them every month to maintain the shine. even then, the water marks can still be seen below the surface of the paintwork. sometimes less is more actually!

thanks to the grooming products from Sonax..from the Stamford Tyres outing. But close inspection got lots of stone chips on bonnet...and ding marks from super humans who open their car doors with no regard. ..plus small dents on rear bumper...so lots of areas to touch up..might as well respray. .

Seems like Revol's ceramic coatings need re-coating/re-grooming once every half yearly. Anyone did their ceramic coating but didn't opt to go for subsequent groomings? Can the effect of the coatings last 3 years as guaranteed?

I've done the ceramic coating but it was my first application. I thought that the interval was 9 months, with the non-ceramic treatment requiring a shorter interval of 6 months, but I stand to be corrected.

Quick update. .Key parts stripped down for a better respray to ensure all corners are reached. ..great to know that the numerous scratches on the door near the door handles would be marks of the past. ..

I signed up for their package, which includes a total of 4 Zetough ceramic coating. Asked the same question before I took up the package. Warranty for Zetough coating is 3 years, why should I go for 4 sessions? For my case, it was recommended because my car is white colour. Gets dirty easily than most other colours. And given Singapore's harsh weather condition (frequent rain, haze, hot temperature, etc), I do think it is reasonable to go back every 9 months. Also, package also quite worthwhile.

 

One time treatment = $788

package = $1488

 

Includes 4 sessions (valid for 3 years) plus 6 free car wash. I heard from my friend that their earlier offerings include free dent removals as well but it is no longer included in the package now.

 

My personal experience after the treatment (applied somewhere in July 2014). Metallic surface is very easy to clean. However, for plastic bumpers, some stains are hard to remove. Went for 1 car wash session at Toh Guan once and they were kind enough to clean up the tough stains on my bumpers. Overall, very impressed by their quality of work.

 

The coating applies to glass surface (I think only front windscreen excluded), leather treatment, tyre shine, rims, etc as well.

Yea if we take 1488 divided by 4 sessions it would seem more "worth it" but just came to my mind what would the 3 years warranty be for then since still need to re-visit regularly to keep up with the quality..

Thks much bro! Still thinking which pps to go for but quite surprised that this pps needs regular "maintenance" at such a fee in order for the effect to be sustained..

Found the document but it was from another company. Basically it cites that warranty for pps against bird droppings,tar, oxidation, etc provided that general terms and conditions are met.

 

One of the conditions include exterior paintwork must be maintained and washed regularly to prevent contamination build up.

 

But then again this is subjected to exclusions like carelessness, negligence or failure to maintain exterior surface in the correct manner. Even if you wash, there is another exclusion for incorrect washing techniques. The obvious one is automatic car wash.

 

Correct manner and incorrect washing technique is a grey area in my opinion.
