Victor68 Turbocharged July 11, 2005 Share July 11, 2005 Dear fellow Chevy owners. I am a Optra owner and recently, I saw a piece of black rubber padding at the base of my front left wheel mud guard. I bent down to retrieve it. I realised that it is a piece of sound insulation for the wheel mud guard! It is just stick on using a double sided tape! I am not sure if such paddings are also present for the right front and back wheels. I think my other Jap cars don't have such paddings which I feel is a good initiative by GM. The flaw here is more the installation. Have you guys checked yours? I will be sending mine to the workshop to check it out. I want that padding because I think it is effective but the installation need to be improved! Just thought I share this here. ↡ Advertisement

Victor68 Turbocharged July 14, 2005 Author Share July 14, 2005 Yes, this is the left side but I am not sure if there is any on the right or back. Initially, I thought it is a sound insulation but after removing it, there isn't a difference. Asked SA staff over the phone, he hesitated and sound unsure but claim it is to block mud from going into the gap and it is only on the front left side! When asked why only left front? He blur liaow. Wu sen tau boh??
