Putter Neutral Newbie July 12, 2005 Share July 12, 2005 Lightspeed, I know this is abit side track to this topic on Solar Film...however, if you want to have a general map for Singapore, no need very details and yet the GPS software can support other regions map with great features, then King Map is the one. However, if you need a detailed Singapore map (which I think no need la...), you left only with Agis liao as King Map is not so updated (develop by Taiwan if I am not wrong). Putter Neutral Newbie July 12, 2005 Share July 12, 2005 Relax lah...King Map is quite easy to use...I show you in next GTG. Back to Solar film, I took my brother's car recently (did not install the solar film), and I could feel the heat "pickering" on my skin. I don't feel it while I am driving mine that install with Huper Optics.

Civic03 Clutched September 11, 2005 Share September 11, 2005 i using v-kool. But 3-M and Huper Optik looks good too. These are the brands with more credibility I think.
Skodarr Neutral Newbie September 11, 2005 Share September 11, 2005 Used Huper Optik on my Nissan... but the effect will decrease after 1 year... Been using V Kool for almost 4 years, still operating well...
Qwert Clutched December 19, 2005 Share December 19, 2005 Hi, new to this forum... Just done up my new car with Lextint, cheap and good, + they giving free customised 3M carmat.... Am organising a group buy to get the rebates, if anyone is interested, let me know. http://www.vagsg.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6437#83035 http://www.perfect.com.sg/
oomph Neutral Newbie March 31, 2006 Share March 31, 2006 i used lextint on my previous passat - good and very "private" for rear passengers as the film is quite reflective giving a slight mirror finish. very good heat rejection properties, given that the passat has very poor aircon, i could not forsee asking for anything better. one downside is that there seems to be quite a lot of "diffraction" (i think) - a good example is that rain on a sunny day and when sunlight hits the windscreen you have lots of light reflecting through the raindrops resulting in some form of "glare" that makes it difficult until you wipe the drops off. I'm talking about very significant differences compared to no film. costs about $450 for max heat rejection and tint. I since moved on to coolnlite and though it costs about $200 more for similar package, the problem still exists but much less. i don't get blinded in the case above, but at night still can see in the rear view mirror highlights on the demister wires from a headlight beams - no different from lextint but you'll get used to it. coolnlite looks slightly clearer to me. Darganz Neutral Newbie April 4, 2006 Author Share April 4, 2006 Quote Quote Yo! Any1 out there had solar films on their ride? If so, need your comments and recommendations on my Skoda Oct! Thanks Hi there Think mine should be the most economical here. I used Solar Film from US, 5yr warranty by mobile installer. They have a shop in Turf City, and at the same time, they can perform mobile installation at your convenience. The key here is that there must be a power point at your location for their dryer and the location must not be under direct sun and windy. Installed and paid $240 since I collected my car in March. No bubbles and everything meet my expection. Cos for me, my philosophy is that nothing is permanent and lasting. Especially when it comes to car. And of course there are other school of thoughts. :) Just sharing my 2cts worth of thoughts. Thanks and happy calling NKF donation line! Watching CH U now! Ciao xc hey bro, mind telling which shop you patronise? Tks!

But should be ok provided the installer is going to do it for you and they might not warranty any bubbles and other deflects
Airwave001 Neutral Newbie April 4, 2006 Share April 4, 2006 3M also good. Free customized mat somemore. Probably is the only film that need no cutting around IU unit. and can provide the same all round protection because the film is clear coloured. There are tinted models and they are cheaper.
