Operating Muffler Vs Legal Muffler

Currently i had done a 4-1 extractor & dummy cat at FK, what is the diff in terms of performance between operating muffler and legal ones like remus and supersprint? i learned that operate muffler will lose low end, will the legal ones lose low end too?

Firstly, Is your car auto or manual? If it's auto, most likely low end torque will suffer if u change to a free flow muffler(eg. operate or Supersprint). If yours is a manual, it should help to improve performance further by changing to a free flow muffler since you have already done the extractor and decat mod.

changing the muffet will create a bassy sound...vroom vroom...idling will be noisier...but will improve low torque...

as long you don't change the piping size your low end will not suffer much

why is it different from auto to manual? the only difference i see is the transmission. the engine, intake, exhaust etc are exactly the same. so applying the same mods to the exhaust would not differ from auto to manual...

bro.. according to other ppl comments on this issue is that both operate muffler and approved will lose abit of low end... u will lose quite abit if u change the piping size to a bigger 1... me no expert in this.. juz a hearsay thing... some ppl even commented that both operate and approved system like remus basically is the same.. dunno how true? but 1 thing for sure.. approved muffler give u a piece of mind in my case... very nervous everytime i c tp..

low end torque need back pressure...de-cat will also lose low end.

 

changing to straigh-thru or up-pipe will oso lose low end...usually such mods are for mid and high torque lor...

 

you should check with a specialist first lor...
