Air Filter & Warranty

You car manual will tell you when to change but the best way to find out is to take out the filter to look.wink.gif

If it had alot of dust on it then it's time to change nod.gif.

However, I've been using K & N for the past 10 years of car ownership (2 Alfas prior to my current Civic), so never bother to look at the Car Manual, just once every 2 to 3 mths, take out the K & N drop-in filter to check sly.gif

Thanks for your reply. [:)]

Is it normal to change the air filter every 2 months? [sweatdrop]

During my servicing in nov 2002, the mechanic told me to change the air filter because too dirty & dusty. I changed.

When i did my servicing again last week, he claimed that the air filter is very dirty & dusty and required to change again. [:(]

Am i cheated? [whip]

How much does K & N air filter cost? [:)]

Can it last longer?

The normal paper air filters can last at least 1yr/20000km in worst case conditions. Usually air filters are recommended to be changed once every 2yrs or 40k.

Like what Cool suggest, get that SC to state that in writing & also get the Service Manager to co-signed it sly.gif

Or, you can do like me, put a K & N drop-in when you're driving & take out the K & N, replace the original Paper before you send in your car for servicing (during the Warranty period) sly.gif Remember army's COC number 7 sly.gif

Me using K$N drop in. Was told by agent that only the warranty for throttle body will be void....not the whole car. Anyway, this info was communicated verbally and there was no b&w to record my changing to the K&N. So if I ever need to claim the TB, just change back to original paper filter before I send car to agent lor.

BTW, me driving Honda and me agent is KM.

Hi bro you using K&N drop in filter? how is it? any increase in power or something? and how does the engine sounds before and after? louder?

Hi Chris,

I bought the filter almost 2 years ago. If I can still recall, there was a very slight increase in power but not significant. Engine sounds louder...more punchy. [;)]
