Dear all,

the SOHC 138bhp engine in the Legacy will be replaced with a new 2.0L 165bhp unit according to CarBuyer newsletter.

My question is: is this new engine the 2.0 DOHC 16V AVCS unit?

If the new Legacy can maintain the price at $88K as of now, I would see sales for Motorimage to increase.

well, we can only hope it will be, sooner or later.

The landscape of 2.0l is getting more competitive with new FL M6, KM Accord 2.0 and JDM Accord 2.0 all pricing below 90k, if they outprice themselves, they'll remain contented in selling small numbers.

I think if it is priced around $90k, it will sell well as Subaru is a better driving machine (coz of 4WD) compared to a Camry or an Accord. Their Legacy GT sold well and is just about the best in class (at it's price range) at the present moment. [thumbsup]

yep, I'll probably be one of those who may decides buy the 2.0R. but it is somewhat let down by the sluggish 4spd auto. Accord 5spd auto matched to its excellent K20 engine is a gem. Even the new FL M6 will come with 5spd auto... Having an extra gear can make crusing smoother and more fuel efficient. I guess its hard to be perfect... that is why I wish the 2.0R comes with 5spd auto. Then the decision for me is 100% very clear!

I am newbie to AWD cars but like the legacy feel and look.

So I ordered a 2.0i SOHC (thinking it will save fuel, right?)and that 138bhp will do me just fine (i am no racer). i paid 85k for a show car black model. Is that a good catch?

The guy at MI told me that the R or DOHC version may or may not come depending on pricing. It can't be comparable to 88.5K SOHC and cannot be too near 115k GT.

So even if it comes, maybe 100K???

BTW, how come dun see many legacies in the road one....???

Before i got a subaru car, i also used to wonder why there were so few of them (legacy) around. Then my friend bought one and i realsied that that there are quite a number on the road - just never noticed them before. Plus, there are a lot lesser of Legacys compared to other makes like toyota and hondas.

I think you'll love your sound system. [nod] And having AWD- [thumbsup][thumbsup]
