Liqui Moly 5W-40 Synthetic Oil only cost $40 for 5 lit (very commonly used in Germany). Servo charge oil filter at $8 and service charge at $30. So all in all for engine oil change is $78.

ic. im using mobil 0w-40 + oil filter change + service charge at $135. i went to mobil and saw the engine oil selling at $100/4 ltr.

the fellow say good for engine. think its mobil 1 gold colour bottle. spark plugs he say use on bm318i. changed liao feel alot of difference, engine wont roar like lorry, step oil move abit faster but still slow becos 1.6!!

 

i also changed my rotors(brembo) for $160. vw/audi original pads $110. labour $35

 

The price you paid for your rotors are for a full set? Front and back? Are they slotted or just normal ones?

mine 1.6 only change the front pair, ventilated discs only. no cross or slot. i went to servo they quote me $240.

Ouch, that is very expensive, if my memory serves me right, I changed my front and rear rotors for ard S$350 in total. And my front rotors are slotted. What is your ride?

you can get the Brembo Max rotors (slotted) for $75 per pcs for front and Brembo (non-slotted) for rear at $45 at United Motors. i'm on my 2nd set oready on my Toad.

 

for pads, the originals which i am on are really really dusty....... tried Mintex, but they squeeel, so will either go for Ferodo or Bendix Metal Gold next.

Yeah that's where I got mine fixed to. At that same price! Haha. I'm on the mintex Red Boxes also. Yeah squeal really bad on some days but I'm living with it. Pad are quite new, 6 mths so unwilling to change till they are worn.

 

How often do you change your rotors ah?

Nope, no modification necessary for mine. Fits the VW Bora also. Not sure about the Octy though. But they should have for your ride if I'm not wrong.

i just bought them there, got them fixed at my mech, will try the Ferodos in about 6 mths time or so....

 

I changed the fronts more often, only when they are worn out....no particular period or distance travelled. i'll be going for my 110K servicing next week, probably will be rear rotors this time as they lasted about 6 mths longer than the front already.
