Most agent would reccommend to flush at 40,000Km but many bros here recommend to do at 20,000Km interval if you want your auto transmission to be in tip top condition [;)]

I had mine done at Khangs B4. Brought my own synthetic Dexron III ATF, (RP) at abt $10/qt.

Needed 18 qts as my flush every 60K km & old ATF was very dirty. Labour was $50.

So my total was abt $230 for fully synthetic ATF flush.

Done abt 2 years back, so please check for the current prices.

As what has been mention already, flushing gets more of your ATF replaced (almost 100%). Drain & fill only changes about 1/2 of the ATF in the autobox. So you only get 50% protection.

Long b4 they had the flushing system, I did manage to get most of the ATF out by draining first then running the engine & moving the gear to P,R,1,2&3. Much more ATF flowed out but I was later advised by a mech not to do this as it might cause the clutch plates to get burned due to lack of lubrication.

Another way is to drain & fill & drive for a while then repeat process till u get bright red ATF when u drain. This tells u that you have replaced most of your ATF by then. This method is quite troublesome. Just pay $50 for the labour charge & get the flushing done. [thumbsup]
