Falc 3rd Gear July 8, 2005 Share July 8, 2005 (edited) ok ok, it should be 0.32 and 0.33. So the diff is 0.01, one magnitude smaller now! Edited July 8, 2005 by Falc ↡ Advertisement
Falc 3rd Gear July 8, 2005 Share July 8, 2005 If the websites are right, not much diffrence also. Cd for 147 is 0.32, 156 is 0.31. Another 0.01 difference.
Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie July 8, 2005 Share July 8, 2005 heh... you'll be surprised... simply park both side by side, and you'll find the 147 resembling a lorry compared to the 156... and the 156 is also shorter car.
Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie July 8, 2005 Share July 8, 2005 yeah... but at 200km/h, I think that 0.01 would make quite a difference. especially since the 156 has longer gear ratios. but for some reason, I've been having trouble hitting above 215km/h as of late... dunno why. and I've lightened the car also... strange... Cheeze Neutral Newbie July 8, 2005 Share July 8, 2005 can't help notice that u frequently use the word long/short gear ratios..in a nut shell, how does longer ratio affect the car vs shorter ratio??? thanks!!
Genie47 1st Gear July 9, 2005 Share July 9, 2005 The terminology is not long ratio but tall ratio. Short is correct. Yes, tall ratios would mean you can squeeze more out in terms of top speed. The needle seems to go up and up and up with a tall ratio. A short ratio will give you very good acceleration. One of the ways to cheat in the gear ratio game is to change the final drive. Hang_kilat Neutral Newbie July 9, 2005 Share July 9, 2005 bro, when u say this i suddenly remebered when i used to play Rallisport2 for short and winding roads, id go for shorter ratios, but for long-straights id go for longer ratios. so basically, short ratios lets u accelerate faster while longer ratios gives u a higher topspeed (for that particular gear?). is my understanding correct?? Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie July 9, 2005 Share July 9, 2005 heh... yeah... tall ratios. I told you talk about ratios I dunno how to read mah. whahahaha... for some reason I'm used to saying "long" rather than "tall".

Falc 3rd Gear July 11, 2005 Share July 11, 2005 That's the bad part abt small mammal pets. Though, GP has abit longer life span 4-8 yrs, and they don't bite. But without doubt, dog's still man's best friend.
