Vit4wd 1st Gear June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 What's the difference between Octavia Tour, Ambiente and Classic?
Koolaba 1st Gear June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 Level of trim. Exisiting Octavia owners, perhaps you can comment
Nullifi3d 4th Gear June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 (edited) Difference in terms of trim and equipment i guess. engine wise should be all the same. Technically, i was kinda mislead, thought tour stood for touring or wagons. But found out its just a stock Octy. Koolaba 1st Gear June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 They simply replaced the emblem under the 'Octavia' from 1.6i to TOUR
Koolaba 1st Gear June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 Isnt that about the same price as the Golf V 1.6 FSi? Almost the same price. Seriously think CA should do something about their pricing
Magfocus 5th Gear June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 Of course they would argue that the octy is bigger lah etc..
Vit4wd 1st Gear June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 And I thought the Ambiente is 16V while Classic is 8V. Until a forumer here said they are all 8V.
Fortress Clutched June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 (edited) The difference between Ambient and classic are the features and Engine. Ambient comes with automatic transmission, auto power windows, Induction engine(Bora), more BHP, lumbar support for the front seats, Electrical side mirrors, side cup holders(not that I allow anyone to eat inside) and more sensors(means more things for maintenance, hence cost). Classic is very Basic, a normal Aspirated engine(Vento), trial and tested, simple to maintain(have a look at the engine compartment), power window for the front and a manual transmission and without the fancy above-mentioned items. For S$10,000 less then, I got the Classic. Ivan Edited June 30, 2005 by Fortress
Vit4wd 1st Gear June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 So if I want manual, it is not avail in the Ambient? Only avail in Classic?
C708 Neutral Newbie June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 Ivan, VEry simple to differentiate....Classic 75 bhp engine...less frills, Ambiente 100bhp engine more frills.....
Fortress Clutched June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 (edited) Hi, I look at it differently, more frills mean more maintenance problems... Ivan Edited June 30, 2005 by Fortress
Dudemobile Neutral Newbie June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 $67,777 for 1.6M. Dunno the price for the Auto. Changing your ride? CA finally get the price right. Wonder what they scrapped from the Ambiente in order for it to be a tour at that prices? Almost 20K diff man.... from what I paid for mine 2 yrs ago. So has the superb dropped in price......? Koolaba 1st Gear June 30, 2005 Share June 30, 2005 I think the Superb was priced at $108k when it was launched. Currently it is going for $99k.
Vit4wd 1st Gear July 1, 2005 Share July 1, 2005 Price will drop further.
Vit4wd 1st Gear July 1, 2005 Share July 1, 2005 Classic only 75 BHP for a 1.6l? No wonder it felt very underpowered when I test drove.
Normal_aspirated Clutched July 1, 2005 Share July 1, 2005 when conti spec says 75bhp it is at the wheels. Mine 323 spec is 109bhp is at the engine flywheel. I found out tat at the wheels it show only 80bhp. I think japs cars are not reflecting their specs correctly. ↡ Advertisement
