just installed this preamp for $300 plus in my ride as my HU is a built in one so got no aux channel.After installing, i can now play my ipod through the preamp and through my speakers....so now very happy....definitely better than using the itrip [thumbsup]

Looks like you already had an amp in your car.

 

Here is the cheaper "solution"

 

Get a 2 channel AV A/B switch which works the same way, sans the preamp and equilizer.

 

CD---------| AV switch------>AMP------------>speakers

MP3 -------|

 

Cheapest option is to get two 2 to 1 RCA connectors. Just mute you CD/Radio when you play you MP3 player. Less than $10 total damage.

[bigcry] should have consulted you before I installed the preamp....now cannot cry over spilt milk as installed already...looking at the bright side...got more buttons to fiddle with [:/]
