Skywalker Neutral Newbie June 24, 2005 Share June 24, 2005 Anyone what other options for silent performance tyre? Can only think of from the same category are : 1. Michelin Pilot Preceda - using now & meet all my expectation (grip, quiet, comfort) but wanted to try something else 2. BF Goodrich g-Force Sport - read from magazine review is comparable (& slightly better from all aspect) to Pilot Preceda 3. Falken ST115 - tried but dun find it quiet or comfort..... grip is good though 4. Yokohama AVS dB - most probably will try next ↡ Advertisement
Dtvox Neutral Newbie June 24, 2005 Share June 24, 2005 (edited) Not sure if I am of help here but I will try... 1. Michelin Pilot Preceda - using now & meet all my expectation (grip, quiet, comfort) but wanted to try something else I almost bought this one. It appear to have both comfort and performance but not at the highest level. Other words, it should do the job relatively well. Price is not cheap despite being Thai made. 2. BF Goodrich g-Force Sport - read from magazine review is comparable (& slightly better from all aspect) to Pilot Preceda Good performance tyres. Good reviews from bros here. Comfort may be lacking as a lot of them complained it to be too noisy. Nevertheless good value (Cheap) 3. Falken ST115 - tried but dun find it quiet or comfort..... grip is good though You answered your own question. Next. 4. Yokohama AVS dB - most probably will try next I have a friend who tried this but on an MPV and claimed that it was noisy. But don't take his word for it. Heard great reviews on it before. (Price I am not too sure) My recommendation: Goodyear F1 DSC3 (German Made) Currently using. Almost 4K already and still quiet. Extremely good performance tyres. Not afraid of rain. But understand that subsequently can get noisier as the mileage increases (so far had not seen any tyres that does otherwise). Nevertheless good value for money...Cheaper than the Precedas... Den88 Neutral Newbie June 24, 2005 Share June 24, 2005 Hi Bro, What is your tyre size and how much is it? Most important, where you buy from? Thanks Den
Soya Supersonic June 24, 2005 Share June 24, 2005 Ermm...there's no such thing as a Silent performance tyre hor. Maybe Less-Noisy performance tyre would be a better way to look at it. Having said that, F1s get my vote anytime.

Zombie Neutral Newbie June 24, 2005 Share June 24, 2005 I am using No. 2. Don't think it can be considered as the silent or quiet category. Nonetheless, it is a good tyre.
Skywalker Neutral Newbie June 24, 2005 Author Share June 24, 2005 Actually I read in a magazine on the tyre review, results shows most of the areas are comparable or slightly better the Pilot Preceda, that's y I put them under "low noise" category. Seems like cannot trust those review....

Apollo 1st Gear June 26, 2005 Share June 26, 2005 when u r down to low profile, u hv to compromise. and tat's what tyre manufacturer does. they aim more for performance, esp cornering. to overcome ur noise problem, upgrade ur ICE instead.
Skywalker Neutral Newbie June 28, 2005 Author Share June 28, 2005 understand that, already upgrade ICE and soundproofing, next will be ear plugs :P just need a quieter tyre in this category.
Apollo 1st Gear June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 except for Preceda, I think the others r semi comfort n semi performance. you can check out Pilot Dragon fr AUTOACC (not AUTOBACC) at paya lebar.
