Redeel Neutral Newbie June 20, 2005 Share June 20, 2005 Here's my input... For the export value of cars, there are quite a few factors involved. Stuff like colour, mileage and accessories do affect the price. But, the most important thing is, whether the car is in demand for the target countries to export to. Different dealers have different contacts for exporting, hence the differences in pricing. Also, there are dealers who have no means of recycling PARF paper at a huge loss, so they have to deduct a certain amount off the body price before giving a quotation. For your info, the current rate for paper deduction is already 6%, as the market is flooded with PARF papers... At the end of the day, as a consumer, you are at liberty to check with as many dealers as you want regarding the disposal of your vehicle. Good luck! eddie ↡ Advertisement
Starian Clutched December 28, 2005 Share December 28, 2005 After reading so much on exporting of car, I wish to clarify 1 point, whether scrap or export, the paper value will definitely deduct certain % before the dealer refund to the car owner? I want to export my 323(apr 02)M, was quoted 2.5k for car body. Anyone got higher offer?
Solar Turbocharged January 24, 2008 Share January 24, 2008 (edited) suppose that i'm going to migrate/work in another country in a few years time. if i sell my car then, i'd probably fetch only paper. is it possible to export my car there, instead of buying again (assuming getting an old car, don't know its history, repairs etc)? would the host country accept it (there's an age limit right?) edit: by then my car would probably be 4-5 yr.. Starian Clutched April 15, 2008 Share April 15, 2008 It been 2 years+ since I post my query, thanks for digging old thread. Yes, if your car body still in 1 piece you can get some decent value, depending on the car age. If not in 1 piece, then you may get pro-rated value from scrapyard... Starian Clutched April 15, 2008 Share April 15, 2008 wow wow, yup, Should be to get some value from scrap yard. I dont think any 1 wanna in the our favourite export country wanna take a 8 years car nor their country allow such old car, unless is really super 3rd world. Like our super old phone tat is more than 4 years old also get 10 bucks for selling to 2nd hand phone dealer. Same case goes to sell old radio, tv to karang guni. Empire90 Neutral Newbie April 16, 2008 Share April 16, 2008 Hi brudders, I want to know how the system for export of car works. I currently thinking of scrapping my car (4yrs old) and the paper value is about 43K. It's a Civic VTI. I heard that if exporting the body itself, can fetch 4-5K.. Is there a formula to calculate this? I have a few "agent" which give me different export price ranging from 1K to 5K... I don't know if the body could fetch higher or is the offer really good. Can any expert here guide me along? Your value is 110% higher than 5k Bro
