Has anyone tried any TPMS on their rides or know of any pros and cons?

So far have heard of Road Snoop and the 3rd Eye systems available.

Anyone tired them before care to comment?

Thanks.

I have the 3rd Eye system and it seems to be very accurate. Also when I had a problem with the receiver (after one year, the warranty is 2 years), it was replaced FOC be the agent - very impressive after sales service - they even upgraded my valve stems to the metal ones w/o charge.

Recommended if you are looking for a TPMS...

i imported 3 sets from China, wanting to start a little biz selling them, but now canned the idea. One of them installed in my car, the other 2 sets for sale at cost, not making money, just covering freight and insurance that's all. Anyone interested kindly PM me, thanks!

Finally gotten it. laugh.gif

No more worrying about if there's anything wrong with the tyres. thumbsup.gif

Good for people like me that travel NSH for short trip. May try it out. I read from somewhere that US (or some States) is trying to make it a law to install them but I may be wrong.

Yap that's right [nod]

You are seeing more new cars come with tpms in stock form. But those may be implemented riding on ABS system which is not so good compared to sensor type.

Not many people think it's impt. Car enthusiast may think they don't mind checking pressure manually weekly, while non car enthusiast cant even be bothered. [sweatdrop][laugh]

BTW, u dont happen to carry skunk2 products do you? [sly]

1. Visual check is not reliable at all and it takes you a while to figure out that a tyre is striked by a nail or sharp object. How to check a nailed tyre from inside? tires these days very good can withstand puncture without giving visual differences. With TPMS, you will know right away which tyre is giving you problem. Remembered a case of car accident, due to tyre burst. With TPMS, the driver would have picked out something fishy.

2. One thing is, I don't like to occupy my dashboard with stuff. Wonder if there is something less prominent meter, very slim and work as a TPMS.

Hi skunk bro,

I'm interested in your TPMS. How does it work (which of the two methods listed above)? Also, any warranty?

Thanks!

Agreed.

And I have the same dislike on cluttered dashboard too. My TPMS is powered by cig lighter so i just leave plug it in and leave it in the storage DIN when using it, which is not 100% of time.

1. I don't even like the idea of using ciggy lighter as a power source. I would prefer to wire all my gadgets directly.

2. You selling TPMS? Which model and made?

If you are willing to pay i'm sure you can get any ICE shop to wire everything and mount it somewhere nicely for you. wink.gif

Me not selling, good luck in searching.

it works by Radio Frequency, the type of transmittor hidden inside the tire.

no warranty, bought it direct from factory by my friend based in Guangzhou, then he sent it back to me.

Brand new lah, used for half a year already, no probs at all.

Thanks for being interested at all, wasted $800plus bringing in these stuff, including one set for motorcycles. Haiz, should have done my research first before importing.

A number of friends including myself had problems with slow leak and not detected until they became fullblown flats under hard driving up North...reason no 1, car can lose control when there's a leak and tyre can blow up, and can be the cause of accidents,...

Reason 2: The inconvenience and costs in M'sia...not easy to repair tyre puncture, most of the time cannot repair, 18" tyres and performance tyres almost impossible to get unless you're around KL, or the other cities...some people also don't carry spare tyre, having taken them out for ICE, [sly]...

TPMS is a good thing if you're on the roads often... [:/][:p][:)]

What car do you drive, that comes stock with TPMS?

2 years ago I had a blown tire just into NSH at Chemor (near Ipoh) coming home. Limped to a petrol station. Had to source for a 18" replacement, called many many shops, had to settle for a Eagle F1 (considered lucky already, only available brand for that size while my tyres were S02A). Could get S02A but can only trucked in from KL and would take 1 day and RM1200! Finally when on the road 6 hours later, paid RM950 for the tyre, installation all in, considered fortunate liao.
