Mattjoe 1st Gear September 9, 2005 Share September 9, 2005 Too much like a van.I have been tracking owners' feedback on Wish - seems quite good but nothing on edix and mazda 5. Dealers are claiming 11km/l on Singapore roads. How reliable is this info? Any comments? ↡ Advertisement
Golfspin Neutral Newbie September 9, 2005 Share September 9, 2005 I am driving the Edix but the 2L one. Reading other forums, i think you will get 10.5-11.5 km/1. Not sure about the 1.7L, but the 2L is a good fun car to drive. I think the lay out is the BEST is it's class. You can sit 6 people and have Boot spaces, not many MPV out there have this. Mattjoe 1st Gear September 9, 2005 Share September 9, 2005 Thanks for info. Agree with you. Best layout and great style. But I think there is a great diff in v-tec and i-vtec engine. too bad I can't afford the 2l version.
Crv2004 Clutched September 9, 2005 Share September 9, 2005 Nice As you have said, having 3 males sitting in the front is really a bit odd With a bodykit, foglights & sports rims, this ride will sure looks cool Best to have 1 girl in the centre and 2 guys on the side
Solar Turbocharged September 14, 2005 Share September 14, 2005 the 3 seats seem very close to one another. would it seat 3 grown men together comfortably, or like thigh-touch-thigh..erm..awkard?? another thing is that the width seems wider than conventional car/mpv. do u have problems with hdb car park (no sliding door right?) ? Golfspin Neutral Newbie September 16, 2005 Share September 16, 2005 (edited) The seat can be layout into V shape like below (you can check the edix website, just search edix on google). http://www.honda.co.jp/Edix/ Surprising not too tight. Width wise, it is just 1 cm wider than Odessy. Not as bad as I thot. It is a shorter car and the turning radius so small. (Shorter than my alfa 156) In general, how I decided on this car is 1. I don't like MPV, no Boot space. People say put down the last row, if so might as well buy a station wagon/saloon car. 2. I wanted a at least 6 six, slightly bigger than saloon car and have boot space so that we can bring kids bicycle, my golf bags ..etc around. 3. Wanted a Jap car. So when my brother found this out, I was willing to get it even without test drive. I was just surpised there is such a car out there that fit my requirement. So if anyone have this requirements, this is the only car. No wonder in Europe people car FR-V (Fun Recreation Vechicle Edited September 16, 2005 by Golfspin

Golfspin Neutral Newbie September 16, 2005 Share September 16, 2005 yes, 2L is about 10K more, for me is worthy every cent paid...:) Handling is smooth. comfortable ride. Wide body so quite stable.
Hatch_lover Neutral Newbie September 16, 2005 Share September 16, 2005 (edited) hi Golfspin, may I knw wat's the mileage you're doing? Is it simliar to the 156? How abt the drive compared to the 156? Can giv ur opinions? Currently I'm driving a 147, quite interested in the Edix due to addition in family size. I also share ur requirements of a car so also feel that Edix could be my solution....but then my wife can't get over the shape, she luvs the 147 too much Thx in adv! Golfspin Neutral Newbie September 16, 2005 Share September 16, 2005 Wow!!! It sound like me a few months ago. My wife love the 156 also... haha I miss my alfa....:( Alfa is always a Alfa, very nice design, very sweet engine. Drive wise, you need to have a mind-set changed. Edix is definitely a easy car to drive, quieter than Alfa. The reason I choice the 2l, it is pretty responsive, so that is as close as it gets to a alfa. Mileage wise, my 1st tank is the same as alfa. But I believe it will get better around 5k. Shape wise, the front looks pretty nice. You need to see the car in person. Pic on the Web, doesnt justifies its look. Edix is a wonderful family car, you will not regret.
Wankie Clutched September 16, 2005 Share September 16, 2005 It is a shorter car and the turning radius so small. (Shorter than my alfa 156) cannot compare lah, alfa turning radius like a boat like that always end up eating into other lane especially during u turns
Hatch_lover Neutral Newbie September 16, 2005 Share September 16, 2005 Thx dude! Ok, let me go do more research I saw a white Edix with modded front grill (actually the owner replaced the chrome grill with a grilless grill..oe watever) and also lowered the car....I thot its nice and of coz I pointed it to my wife...but she `147 nicer....' Btw, when I first saw it at a PI, I thot it was a X3
Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie September 17, 2005 Share September 17, 2005 (edited) Wow... me also about the same position.... currently driving the 156... and will have a new addition to the family soon..... So doing some research. Of course if possible, I would rather keep my Alfa. Money no object choice: MB R63 AMG Next best choice: Honda Odyssey Absolute (200ps) Economical choice: Edix (FR-V) or the Mz5 2050905.003.Mini1L 2050905.003.Mini3L Edited September 17, 2005 by Cool_jazz

Hatch_lover Neutral Newbie September 18, 2005 Share September 18, 2005 Hey cool_jazz, remember me? We met before while testing Ken's 147 Thx for the link Seems like Alfa should fill this niche eh? The family MPV, or is this niche not fillable by Alfa?? ↡ Advertisement
