Gadgeter 2nd Gear June 14, 2005 Share June 14, 2005 (edited) Not done by professional... Just a simple DIY job which I have carry out on Saturday.. I know I can simply have it installed by those ICE installer. But, as some of you might know, I prefer to DIY my stuff as and when possible. Current setup. From Car battery to amps, there is a 60a fuse. New Setup. To have an additional fuse in between the amp and the 60a fuse. Some of you might not agree that why should I add an additional fuse since I already have a 60A fuse. Reason: Lower fuse would normally blow first if 'something' bad were to happen. And currently the lowest fuse are those in the Amp. As such, I just want to be safe.. Add another 'lower' fuse in between the 60a and 30a (amp), so that it something bad happens, it will blow the new additional fuse first instead of those on my amp. I also want to install another power cap to my current setup. In short, the new setup involve an additional fuse holder and power capacitor. My material cost: Red Cable for +ve (Balance from my grounding project) Black Cable for -ve (1 meter - $2.50) Fuse holder block (1 to 2 - $9) Fuse (30a - $1 X 5) brought 4 for $4, got extra one for free. Lightspeed Clutched June 14, 2005 Share June 14, 2005 Wow... How much was the cap? Excellent DIY job
Gadgeter 2nd Gear June 14, 2005 Author Share June 14, 2005 (edited) brought the cap at $135... cheap or ex? I still have a long way to learn about having nice presentation... Ideas and actually work seems to be so far apart... But well, at least I have new project to look forward to.. It seems like I forgot to take another photo of the 'finished' project... will update again tomorrow. Edited June 14, 2005 by Gadgeter

York Clutched June 14, 2005 Share June 14, 2005 (edited) trunk...un-ventilated...during a sunny & humid day...temp inside will accumulate 50 to 60 deg C if parked udr the sun...not an ideal compartment for installing a high charged capacitor. heat > is the main enemy of electronic/electrical components or devices...
