Hi guys,

recently when i'am driving, i hear a knocking sound from the engine. i can hear it thru the aircon duct from the driver's side. Seems a bit louder when i release my clutch, from neutral to half clutch position.

It's a 1 month old optra sedan [smallcry]

Anyone experience this before?

fuel magnet...'fuel saving device'....some of tis device can damage the fuel-pump..

BTW is ur fuel device certified for used on ur ride... [:)]

B4 u proceed to ur distributer for backup service....due to the current prob...best u take out the fuel saving device 1st. Otherwise the technical pple there may claim it's due to the device that coses the prob... [:)]

in some cases it coses hairline cracks on the fuel pump which is quite difficult to trace.. [:)]

That is kind of far stretch, don't you think ? How can a piece of magnet mounted out the rubber fuel line crack the fuel pump which is right behind the car under the rear passenger seat and interfer with the fuel line supply pressure ? [hur]

Please !!!!!!!!!!! EDUCATE me [crazy][crazy][crazy]

Questions :

a. How many time the sound appear ? Once or repeatedly ?

b. What sound ? Tapping, Kocking, etc. Try to describe sound !

c. When do sound appear ? Driving, stationary, in carpark, during turn, driving over hump or anytime ?

d. Does the sound coincide with any particular movement, like de-clutching, accelerating, etc ?

Might be those items u installed to the engine. Not properly secured or fitted.

Vacumn line is one main suspect.

Why installed such items when u are not familiar with the engine in the first place?

Best is if you can PROPERLY uninstall all those gadgets and then see if the problems persist. If it still does, go back to SA to have them look at the problem...... without all those gadgets in of course.
