Digital speedo??

Hi all..

 

been looking arnd but dunno wats the name for a device that can measure the speed of our car.

 

seen it when i was in HK. my cousin has one in his skyline. Its a turbo-timer too but can show speed of the car.

 

 

been to autobacs, but seen nthing of that sort. anyone can shed some light?

 

if not too expensive, woujld like to install one.

I know HKS type II turbo timer has a speed display option. They are pretty cheap and many 2nd hand ones are around. It runs off the ECU speed sense wire. Crucial to find an installer who knows how to tap the correct wire though.

 

But digital speed display useful meh?

For used, about $100, can try WTS postings in wrx forum like www.subaruclubsg.com , it's a turbo timer afterall. New ones, i know cartronic was selling. Installer-wise, not sure, just ask a few and make sure they know how to tap the speed wire for your car.

I heard the speedo on turbotimers are extremely laggy. On spirited accel. 0-100, by the time your at 100 the speedo is reading 60kph.
